Speeding Advice (ANOTHER thread...but not actually speeding)
A friend from work was caught speeding on the way in today, personally I don't think there's anyway she should be hit with a fine for it. The fine is £60 and 3 points on her licence. Here's the situation:
She lives in a small village and was flying down some backroads (speed limit 60mph), she was coming up to another village and was clocked doing 47mph 300m from a 30mph zone. The police officer pulled her over, read her her rights and gave her a caution, along with the £60 fine and 3 points on her licence.
Firstly, should she have had the caution?
Secondly, can the police ACTUALLY do that with regards to the speed? By my maths (which is a bit off today I'll admit) she would have crossed that 300m in 14seconds at the speed she was clocked at. Isn't that ample time to slow down to 30 (considering she was braking at the time and not accelerating)? Can they charge her when she was under the speed limit when snapped?

2) I'm not actually sure what happens after that.
There's some tips at www.beatthespeedtrap.co.uk
That's as helpful as I can be, mate.
I'm kinda concerned that she was ticketed for an offence she was going to commit (minority report hello?)
Look closely over the ticket where it states the location. Then compare the location noted on the sheet to the actual speed limit of that location.
Satans..... hints.....
