I'm way too shallow to play most old, emulated games, but this kinda reminds me of when, years ago, Jerry started complaining about second-hand game sales (this was a once a thing, younglings Nope nope nopity nope, let's just say 'kids'), because thought it was 'bad for the industry'. I think he's realised it's not as simple as that by now, but I'm already wincing in preparation for a rant.
The modern obsession with "the cloud" is irksome to me. Sure, it may come with some conveniences, but the fact that it inherently gives a 3rd party the ability to hold your data hostage or delete it entirely just does not sit well with me.
