Unbelievable gag comedy series.
Sheesh, at least proofread your trailers, CR...

On the other hand, it starts with a two minute recap, on episode 6, that completely skips multiple episodes. Which doesn't help the feeling that it lost its thread quite a bit.
I'm enjoying Shy, but boy, it really feels weird week to week in terms of where the show is going & what it wants to do here.
Onion-cutting ninjas stabbing me right in the heart. What a reconciliation.
A madman author going as hard as humanly possible!
Incredible paneling showing poignant emotion.
E: Also we're somehow now Mad Max Fury Road.
Really wish the anime rumors coalesce into an anime adaptation announcement, but it's going to need one hell of studio, and hopefully one that doesn't murder its animators.
They're just going back to their roots as a shitty fansub site. Before they became a shitty fansub site that stole from other fansubs.
Goddamn, Monster is such a great show.

It's been a little disappointing to me so far, but that could definitely change if it re-focuses more on the superhero stuff, though from what I secondhand know about the manga, it flipflops between the two things pretty frequently, and unlike, say, Yozakura Quartet, the slice of life stuff never really adds much and is pretty banal.
I do have... opinions on how it handled the disability thing last week, and its budget is pretty unfortunately mediocre. Not bad, by any stretch, but episode 6's attempt at a fight that kept turning into stills with speedlines was definitely something that a better studio/one with more budget would've made into real eyecandy.
...I have no idea why they even bothered to make this an Iseaki, honestly! I'm guessing it's one of those "it's popular, so that's the hook". Because it so far has zero relevance. But as a fantasty story with a chosen one type hero, it's really good so far. Will's fun and interesting as a character, and his backgorund and the time spent to develop that was great. Interested to see where this goes, i'm certianly not regretting watching it currently. It's a nice show.
Though, mild episode 7 spoilers:
That's gonna haunt.

Bee and how seriously she takes barding is great. Really nice take on the Bard/storyteller archtype.
maybe it's just me and my enjoyment of slow paced series, but this is great. Genuinely surprised it's flown under the radar so much. Probably the only unrealistic part is... everyone's so far a fundamentally decent person. Which you know what? Fuck it, it's nice to have something upbeat.

It's still bad though.
Well, not every anime live-action adaptation can be as good as Fist of the North Star...
One thing that amuses me, as a Tolkien fan, is how blatantly the author just... uses names from Tolkien works that maybe the Japanese audience doesn't know, but you get a feeling he DOES know what they mean.
Will's best friend is Meneldor, who in Middle Earth is an eagle and brother of Gwaihir. The elf hero Telperion, who in Middle Earth is one of the Two Trees of Valinor. Valacirca, who, well, you'll see.
It never stops being amusing.
Also yes, Bee is the best.
Well, the god of undeath, specifically, isn't really evil. I remain unconvinced about the one responsible for demons.

I couldn't stop thinking about that as well. It's too on the nose.
I think the only time him being isekai'd has actually mattered was that one time his inner monologue was about how he'd been a NEET who'd wasted his life and thus that's why he's so determined to make something out of his current one?
I'll say this, though: I feel like Faraway Paladin's isekai is still more relevant than that High Elf isekai manga. Which I still enjoy, mind you, it's just... I think the only time the isekai aspect has ever been remotely relevant, in a way that couldn't just have been explained by the MC being a weirdo among High Elves, is that one time he reinvented Japanese paper theater. Which was relevant for, like, a chapter.
Maybe the light novel had it come up more in the internal monologues, I dunno, but in the manga I feel like they could've just made it a Frieren thing and nothing would change.

Honestly bi-weekly is better. We only get bursts of multiple weeks in a row when he's feeling ambitious.
I was just thinking a little moment like this even would be really tough to animate without using some clunky CG
Dandadan 128
I'm willing to wait if that will take karoshi off the board
I love how every scene involving the Valac family turns into a Von Trapp Family Singalong
The anime version does a great job with all of the music, particularly with the Valac family. There's also a bit during the amusement park arc where it turns into Synphogear for an episode.
Well, it's just Mad Max if it starred Bruce Lee. You'd have to try to fuck up a live adaptation of that.

Clara is kind of A Best(tm). The competition for best girl in Iruma-kun is fairly stiff, but she wins it without effort, and the Valac family is excellent.
