the flag was also out before anything happened, did he want them to pick up the flag and say "there's no flag for offsides on the play as it was too awesome"

Yes

You also get 2 extra points every time you throw a side arm TD

There are very few worse looks than being the reigning champs, the presumed favorites every year, the main character of the league, and being whiny sore loser babies. Mahomes is trashing basically all the good will he could have outside of Chiefs fandom.

Regardless of anything Toney was 9 yards past the line of scrimmage.

He should have easily been able to tell he was offside.

Yeah, like, he didn't check, okay, but also his front foot was past the nose of the ball, how could he not just see from where he was that he was way too far forward.

  • Knight_Knight_ Dead Dead Dead Registered User regular
he didn’t check with his fucking eyeballs to see he was lined up with the defensive line, no shit he didn’t ask the down judge.

    The other thing is

There is no way of knowing that play would have went off the same way if he hadn’t lined up offside.

Lol seems like KT checked in with the sideline before he was set and was just yeah we cool

    Sloppy as hell

  • admanbadmanb unionize your workplace Seattle, WARegistered User regular
lmao there's no way that's valid evidence for "checking in with the ref." He just looked over at his own sideline!

do you think Andy Reid is lying???

Andy said today that KT didn't check in with the ref.

  • Knight_Knight_ Dead Dead Dead Registered User regular
the down judge can't even see the fucking ball from that angle because he's so far over the line.

I think the tweet is being sarcastic about the "check" being a fraction of a second glance, is the point.

  • AustinP0027AustinP0027 Registered User regular
Dude straight up just went "Look to the sideline because that's what you do before each play" then turned and looked directly at the ball that is like 5 feet from him and still didn't adjust

    Just the laziest attempt ever.

  • 3cl1ps33cl1ps3 I will build a labyrinth to house the cheese Registered User regular
his foot's fully in front of the ball I really don't know how he thought he was lined up okay

  • Knight_Knight_ Dead Dead Dead Registered User regular
who was that receiver a while ago who was supposed to be on the line, lined up off the line, asked the ref, the ref told him to move up, and he just reset in place and then was like ok we're good now and got flagged for the obvious illegal formation. then complained about refs taking over the game and bad calls.

like refs suck shit but man sometimes you're just dumb as hell.

The literal same interview he says “I know Toney makes plays, he’s getting better every week”, so yeah he’s lying even if it’s just to himself https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39091378/andy-reid-kadarius-toney-check-official-flag

Between Andy and Belichick, if nothing else I hope this year shows that just because you’re one of the greatest coaches of all time, doesn’t at all mean a) that’s a permanent tell of your competence in all thoughts and situations and b) that you’re incapable of a fall from such a height if you stick around too long

And then there is the nickname "Tommy Cutlets," which players such as running back Saquon Barkley are using on the sideline. DeVito told ESPN earlier in the season that one of the advantages to living with his parents is he'll have everything he needs, including "chicken cutlets," when he gets home. When asked in the locker room about it this week, Barkley yelled across to DeVito to see if his quarterback approved.

"We bang with it," DeVito said in acceptance of its usage.

Resident Giants expert Raijin Quickfoot, how is this the first I've heard of this terrible nickname? I rely on you for all the important Giants news! I feel betrayed!

i pasted that exact thing i typed into google and found it:

like, wrs sometimes i feel like think if they check then they're immune to being flagged and it's a bad call if they are.

That's not a new thing. That's the way he's been for his whole career. Talks his guys up, blames himself for problems. It can be annoying when its in the face of obvious player problems, but it's what good leaders should do really.

I mean what's the alternative? Get up in front of the media and say "yeah Toney's kind of a stonehanded bozo and a dumbass but he's the best we can do right now, so we're going to keep running him out there" ?

  • Trajan45Trajan45 Registered User regular
Yeah I think the point is, checking with the refs is fine if it works but given how bad they've been this year, wouldn't be relying on them to tell me if I'm good or not. It was mentioned this was a point of emphasis in the off season (called 2 times last year, 11 so far this year). Players should be practicing this on their own and not screwing up.

probably not come out after the game and say the officiating is a bit embarassing because your wr lined up with the linebackers.

It's just amazing that the team's hill (not necessarily the fanbase's, a lot of them understand it was the right call) is this. Not any of the many actual mistakes reffing throughout the league has made all year. This

it actually takes me a second to even register him because I don't expect to see a WR PAST THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE

absolutely the worst part of this is that I am forced to defend NFL referees

my favorite part of that image is the dude is looking at like, the back quarter of a bills helmet and doesn't think hrm, something sure doesn't seem right here.

I think the funniest part of it for me is that the ball was even on the hashes, and so is he. If it's in the middle of the field, or he's lined up on the numbers or something, okay maybe you got your point of reference wrong or something.

But both spots happen to be sitting right on top of the nice and helpful guide lines drawn right into the middle of the field for you to use.

    Just so dumb.

I've seen people say in other situations someone was so close they could have reached out and slapped someone

This is the first time in a while I've thought it's not an exaggeration. He definitely had the reach here! He could have!!

It's also funny that the first KC player who's actually onsides is also a WR, lined up in front both guards.

Wait there are 2 games tonight?

    I did not realize that

And they’re on at the same time?

Why the fuck would they do that?

a great question that i also asked out loud on sunday when i realized they were at the exact same time.

Question for the other side of that game. If you are a Bills fan, would you have rather lost? If the Bills make the playoffs, McDermott likely sticks around. The playcalling even in that game was beyond terrible, plus all the stuff that’s come out recently.

The nfl is the only sports league that struggles with the concept of a double header.
