I would not be mad if it was a singalong. Star Wars can be for small babies as well as big ones

Meh, I always thought that season 2 was the perfect conclusion to The Mandalorion's story arc. What little I saw of season 3 felt milking a cow until it bled.

There's some good episodes and a nice story "conclusion" but yes it was a little more aimless?

The whole thing is gold but the relevant bit starts at 4 minutes.

I generally have liked the Filoni/Favreau live action Star Wars stuff. But what I'm not a big fan of is all the backdoor pilots and attempts to setup future shows. It seems very heavy handed, and it causes the stories to be a bit disjointed.

Like for example, the Book of Boba Fett started out decent enough. A story about him becoming the new underworld ruler of Tatooine. But then the story sorta just became Mandalorian Season 3, and it stopped being about Boba Fett, which was super awkward since his name is literally in the title of the show.

The actual Mandalorian season 3 is really season 4, since they warped Boba Fett to just being more Mando content.

This also reeks of desperation on Disney's part. They have had nothing but box office bombs for two years straight, and they're desperate for a win. So they're trying to shoehorn a popular TV show onto the big screen, to try to recapture some of that blockbuster movie profit.

Mandalorian works precisely because it is episodic and works well in the TV format. I'm not so sure it will work as well if they try to turn it into a big budget 2 hour summer blockbuster.

Somewhere at a Disney C-suite meeting:

"Hear me out here. Everyone loves Mamamia. Everyone loves Andor. We do a high energy musical about his fun times on Niamos."

If that's the aim, they might fail precisely because it's a popular tv-show (well, Streaming show) meaning it's been largely watched by people interested in watching stuff in streaming, which means they'll likely won't go see it in the theater and just be like "i'll watch it the same way i watched the rest of the mandalorian once it drops on Dysney+"
