I'mma give the hottest of takes that I don't really like Beyonce's foray into Country Music.
It's not bad, I've listened to a bunch of tracks, but it's not good either.
I dunno maybe I'm the one who is wrong.
Country is probably the genre I’m least qualified to have an opinion on, mostly because I can’t think of a single song in the genre that I can stand that was written in my lifetime.
Basically is it really country if it’s not blaring out of a lifted RAM3500 being driven by a white guy with operator sunglasses and three variations of assault rifle decals on the back of the cab?

I read that chuds were talking shit about baltimore's mayor, calling him a 'DEI mayor' I guess as a code (is it tho) for him being black (and what the mayor has to do with a bridge disaster, idk, these people are crazy)

and THEN I saw a bunch of blacktwitter comments where folks were subbing in DEI where they might typically use the n word with one another
I guess I'm not making a point here, but here is a rendition of things I saw that happened in a sequence
the only time i saw him was a clip where someone at a press conference was like- do we know when the bridge/port might be reopened? and he goes like- listen, right now my only focus is finding the people who went into the water. i'm not thinking about reentry, i'm thinking about saving lives and recovering people.
which seems like a very normal and human thing to say. and from that, racists decided to make a bunch of memes screenshotting him at that press conference, photoshopping on sideways ball caps and saggy jeans with text like 'YO DAT BIG ASS BRIDGE FELL'
it is so a) mystifying and b) infuriating and c) what the fuck, i hardly have words

She has a long history of espousing highly patriarchal interpretations of female empowerment and for her version of Jolene to come out in 2024 after all the stuff she’s been through in her marriage is essentially anti-feminist and definitely harmful to other women.
