this is what wrestling is. Fuck all that WWE vs AEW stuff. Go to a local indie and see a weekend warrior with a one note gimmick who brings the house of 100 people down.

(My local guy is a guy with a Baywatch gimmick called Wresslehoff.)

We’ve also got a lifeguard guy here. One of the previous shows they did the “ref squashed in the corner, gets knocked out” spot. Lifeguard hit a move on his opponent and covered him, but the ref is still down.

So he throws a life preserver to the ref and keeps the rope end, the ref grabs it, and he reels the ref to his side of the ring to make the count.

The next two local shows are on back to back weekends, and the one got their venue cancelled and had to move to the brewery like 15 minutes from my house instead of being like 40 minutes away.

Budd Heavy is one of our local wrestlers and I think you can guess his gimmick, although he's also a legit good wrestler and often has the best match on a show.

Randy Wentworth the 3rd is my favorite local gimmick guy who is a spoiled fail son.

they are advertising a Seahawks game constantly during Raw and of course, the song they use is

    Even Flow.

which is quite funny to me after reading this thread.

My guy at local shows I went to was always Jonah (now Bronson Reed). Gonna be very hard to find a new local guy as good as that.

If I were cheating I could claim any number of good comedy gimmicks from Chicago but I think the closest in terms of location and the assignment here...

    Thank you.

(Kevin Owens is still right, btw, but that's just the Law of the [Wrestling] Thread now.)

When I think of unknown gimmick wrestlers, I immediately think of Maxwell Chicago, from the More Than Mania show I saw with @LockedOnTarget.

He's a high flying lounge singer, who is:

    1. Extremely uncoordinated
    2. Afraid of heights

Nobody is going to remember that spot, you weren't even the only one who did a splash through a table off the cage in that match. Plus Iyo did a moonsault with a trashcan over her head, which is more memorable, but she's done it in every wargames match so I don't know if that counts as memorable either.

I think wrestlers forget that Memorable moments only happen in Memorable stories and matches.

Honestly, I'm remembering the timing of Punk pulling Roman off the table more than anything. That was Sami pulling Kevin off the table at HITC levels of 'last second'.

Maybe he should ask Mick Foley how temporary those injuries are.

Well and as we all know, it's not like injuries ever lead to losing your job.

I’m finally watching rampage and considering I expected Mortos to leave this tournament with zero points it is wild to see him have a 10 minute match with Garcia, a man who went to a time limit draw with Okada.

Speaking of Okada I got spoiled on his match with Kyle Fletcher and it’s wild that it looks like they’re setting up Okada to be the underdog in this.

  • SproutSprout Registered User regular
It’s surprising, but also more interesting than “lol Okada wins”.

I shouldn't be surprised, but I really liked Darby vs Kommander from Saturday as well. Really fun match. Way more fun than Mox trying to dump green stuff down someone's throat. That whole thing isn't really my favorite.

I have not watched a lot of TNA anything over the past few years that didn't involve Kenny Omega, Mustafa Ali, Chris Bey or Jordynne Grace so maybe it's illegal for me to say anything about this...

...but if I were them I would not hire an outright racist who will lower locker room morale and probably actually cause some viewers to stop watching TNA.
