Having web pages fill the whole window in firefox

Ok so I'm tired of some web pages not filling the whole window. Now I don't mean a fullscreen mode but like how the forums here fill my whole firefox screen but like the penny-arcade home page is just a small column. Is there a way to make every page like the way I want or is it all just website coding thing?

It's up to the website's creators to decide how a page should be presented. If you'd like you can disable styles entirely, but that is a bit overkill.

This, too, is probably overkill for a minor annoyance, but Firefox will let you set a custom stylesheet for a specific page. So, if you're any good with CSS it's possible to put together a stylesheet that will override the default formatting and expand the main column to fill the screen.

It'll probably horribly break the layout, though.
