    Yeah turns out like any form of power, the Fourth Estate comes with the ability to be malicious or derelict in its use. Not exactly a new thing. And no system is immune to this. but ones that do not allow you to seek out alternatives and censor dissent are going to turn especially heinous with a quickness.

    In a way yes. You elect them/re-elect them by giving their company money.

    That's why you never want all the power centralized, either will enshittify in a heartbeat with no competitors or other limits on that power.
