I've always wanted to watch Venture Bros. is there any way to do so in the UK? Can't even seem to find any non-American releases of the DVDs.

Region free players have to be dirt cheap at this point though most Blu-ray discs arent region coded anymore

I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.

    It is definitely Venturestein.

Maybe there’s a case to be made for Dean as he continues to grow up.

    Definitely not Dean as is:

Jonas Jr is just Jonas Sr all over again, that's his whole deal.
Eh, I feel JJ needed kids to really deliver that point home. He’s basically what Rusty thinks he is, and I don’t think they gave him enough parallels with his father to drive home any cautionary tale about intelligence and hubris.

To ask the opposite question, who is the least moral? Or: is there anyone less moral than Jonas Sr.?

It's definitely Jonas Sr as least moral.

    Runner up is Monstroso

Can we get a kickstarter or something to uprez the first couple seasons to Blu-ray standard?

I’d put money on Ben (the old man who lived near the Potter’s Field) as most moral.

He managed to keep out of the majority of Jonas’s bullshit, save for his contributions with the cloning process.

His breakthroughs with genetic engineering and cloning could have had massive benefits to humanity if they were in anyone else but Jonas’s hands.

When Hank and Dean came to him for help, he did as best he could and told them the truth of their nature. He also helped the Monarch and told him and Rusty the truth about their history.

On top of that he also provided sanctuary to two of Jonas’s cast-offs (Rico and Helper 2).

With Jonas senior I am constantly finding that there is no bottom to his depravity.

I think Jonas Jr. Is somewhere in between what everyone has been describing him as. He's definitely not his father reborn but to quote Rusty talking about Hank "he believes this crap". He's still living the lie that most of the cast realized years ago.

Not in the case of the VB, anyway. I've got all the seasons that they released on Blu-ray direct from the US and not one is region coded. The early DVDs I brought back from the US were and I could only watch those on one DVD player that I found instructions of how to make region free.

Shore Leave would be on the list if not for the inherent problems of being an OSI agent

I’m mostly judging the moral quality of characters by their willingness to get into Hijinks and play the part

Yeah, on my last rewatch leading up to the movie, I was really struck by how much I was rooting for Shore Leave each time he was on screen. Definitely one of my favorite side characters, with the caveat being, as you mentioned, him essentially being a cop

I also think Billy is a good person who tends to go out of his way to help other people, but I think he tends to fall prey to being manipulated by others for not-so-great ends. And there’s probably other things he’s done that I am blanking on

The only major strike against Billy without being threatened I can recall was the god gas at VenTech. Sure he wanted to do more testing but those mice should have been a red flag.

Something i haven't seen mentioned yet is, are they supposed to be the most morally right in reality or in the VB universe? I mean super science and actual magic exist in the VB universe. If Dr O could magic away cancer and instead chooses to get in a dick measuring contest with Rusty, how morally correct is that? Feels like the, Superman should just turn a giant wheel to give the earth free energy, kind of argument would start to come into effect. In terms of the actual real world though it is definitely one of the Order of the Triad. Jefferson fought in Vietnam i think, he was definitely in the military, but it is hard to blame someone for not being an objector and going to prison. Honestly of the three i think Al takes it. I can't think of anything he did in show that was not more or less in the up and up.

I guess the only thing Al is implied to have done is be so clingy on Shoreleave (who can blame him though) as to require a memory wipe.

also, like 90% of the cast are implied to have performed a Rusty Venture, which as we all know involves taking your partners **** and **** on their **** after **** **** **** table leg **** **** back followed immediately by **** **** on the groups **** **** **** after ****

I think that’s more a strike against shoreleave for mind wiping a person because you don’t know how to break it off with them

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
