I'm trying to fix this problem on my girlfriend's laptop. it all started when her welcome screen disappeared. I messed around a little bit with it then but I didnt really try too hard since it wasnt really hurting anything.
today a message popped up on top of the little login window saying "the security log on this system is full. only administrators can log in to fix the problem." no problem. she has an administrator account (seeing as how its her laptop) so I try to log in and this error pops up, "Unable to log you on because it is required that you use a smart card to log on." I think it has something to do with Client Services for Netware, since I did some messing around in safe mode (I can log in in safe mode) and that's apparently what disabled the welcome screen and quick user switching...its the only thing that I can think of that would affect the login.
how do I disable the need for a smart card to log on and uninstall Client Services for Netware? I've never come across this problem before and I'm about ready to put my foot through the damn laptop.

Strange. At any rate, what you'll need to do is bring up the properties window for your Local Area Connection. (Control Panel -->Network Connections, right-click local area and choose properties)
On the first tab, If you want to just disable the Novell services for this connection, you can uncheck them. If you want to remove them completely, highlight them and click Uninstall.

I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?
the problem is that when I bring up network connections in safe mode there's no local area icon to right click on, and I cant check it outside of safe mode because it says I need a smart card to log in, even if I make a new administrative account to try to log in as.
