I just watched Kong Godzilla New Empire and that was a pretty bad movie.
The final fight was very underwhelming especially since it was Kong and Godzilla fighting bad versions of themselves. The zero G part of the fight was so boring and the effects don't look that good.
The incredible 2000s fashion college student, sitting in a dingy arcade, cigarette hanging off his lip, staring into a horrible coin pusher game called Twinkle Dome is a great scene.
Street Fighter II is right there, but he's just gonna sit at that garbage, trying not to think.

Is pulse the movie that starts as a horror and then ends as an
apocalypse
I always want more horror movies to do that. Start small and then just go nuts
Have a Halloween where Micheal Myers does the scene in terminator 1 where he takes out the police station and just keep going

I watched the new roadhouse, the first half was pretty fun! Good vibes at the bar, but pretty much the second that Connor McGregor showed up the movie got noticeably worse and never recovered.

Last night my partner and I watched Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.
Easily my favorite of the three Underworld movies I've seen.
Just a classic swords n' sandals style story but in a world with vampires, werewolves, and no white balancing.
Michael Sheen was fun but holy shit, Bill Nighy HAMS IT UP. Some lines he spits out from the back of his throat and on a few occasions he manages to extend one-syllable words through pure force.
Bill Nighy is just insanely good in that series. It’s hilarious they clearly regretted killing him in the first one
Also I liked the idea of the one where humans find out about werewolves and vampires and go all fascist police state. Fun concept.
Also I liked the creature designs in that series, the vampire lord guy who could fly and the giant titan werewolf were my favourites
I love watching them even tho they’re super bad, something about that exact style gets me nostalgic for the time when there was a bunch of those kind of action flicks

Starred watching Legion on Tubi
I've never seen it but I'm pleased to see two Fast and Furious actors together (for the first time? Not sure)
Seriously though this is a hell of a cast for this dumbass movie:
Starring
Paul Bettany
Lucas Black
Tyrese Gibson
Adrianne Palicki
Charles S. Dutton
Jon Tenney
Kevin Durand
Willa Holland
Kate Walsh
Dennis Quaid

I had to pause it to go to bed last night just after he showed up, and boy if nothing else he sure is making choices when it comes to his accent and facial expressions
I have a feeling I'm not gonna like the resolution but I can't hate them too much for pitting one buff weirdo against another buff weirdo
I'm morbidly curious how of the new Roadhouse movie budget was cocaine for MacGregor
100% of his pay.
Also a good chance to put a reminder out there that McGregor assaults women and uses actual mob tactics/connections to scare them from pressing charges. Just a thing to keep in mind when it comes to giving him more money.

I believe Griffin pointed out the big flaw with Monkey Man which is that they flashback to the same event like three times, but the real flashback doesn't really add anything the shorter flashbacks didn't. It's not like a personal issue was created between Kid and Rana outside of what we could glean from the first flashback.

Jake G. isn't going for Cool Dude like I expected, he's kind of just a weirdo who happens to be buff and I think that's just right for him
Child giant ape was good though.

(That sounds like faint praise but I really had fun with New Empire even though it's a very stupid movie. but Vs really doesn't work)

angels with machine guns is a pretty good elevator pitch
Are you sure you don't want to try Proper 12, I'm sure it's quite mediocre given the care and energy he puts into most of his side hustles?

Unsurprisingly, I did not like it very much
Good performances by Maika Monroe and Blair Underwood
Dumb as hell plot (which hey, having a plot is a step up from some other Perkins movies), some truly egregious film school 101 cinematography
I should not start laughing at your match cuts in a movie that grim
this is the first thing to sell me on longlegs
I don’t know. The whole package worked together for me. I understand where you’re coming from though.
It's exactly like that time that there were real witches in Salem Massachusetts and we hanged them all and it was one hundred percent justified.
Just fuck all the way off with that shit, I do not want to see it ever again.
