Sorry i should say something other than shitposting
Ironically I am the opposite of Benless, i think he's at c5 or mindscape 5 or w/e you want to call it
I feel like if we're including vibes TWEWY also deserves a mention
...It might help that the Gacha Gods decided to give me so many copies of him he's up to M4, with his M2 giving him a shield while he stands there like an asshole for 5 seconds letting his drill pierce the heavens, and M4 making it so every time he ults or chain attacks, the entire party gains 10% crit for 12 seconds.
My gacha pulls have resulted in two Ellens in the same 10 pull, so I stopped pulling there and went for the weapon but so far nothing. I wonder how much she actually needs her weapon over using a higher starred A or B instead, so I've stopped using my poly and instead I'm waiting on the next banners.
So far no other S ranks pulled but I'm perfectly fine focusing on and playing with Anby, Nicole, Corin, and Soukaku until RNG/events hand me more. I was using Billy for the full Hares squad but Billy doesn't have those super satisfying defensive assists, instead he has only Witch time so I've been going with Nicole armor shred + Assist/Special/Ult grouping into Corin EX Specials for my physical needs. I now have those 2 squad missions available though so he still gets slotted into a team for now.
He gets a lot more usable at C2, if I’m remembering when the taps out of aurofire become dodges
Still trades damage output for safety though.
Well, it's not anymore!
I'm super impressed by the Piper-Grace disorder team so far even with Piper only at level 30 and coping with some other 4* anomoly W-Engine at level 20 since her sig hasn't shown up yet. I wondered how it'd perform in Shiyu D level 8 since that's a super awkward stage for me. Trying to put them against the front side that was strong against Electric so Ellen could take on the ice-weak back side was more awful than expected, but they were able to handle the ice weak back side instead faster than Ellen did the front side, both teams against agnostic elements. Maybe that's not a surprise with two super synergistic 5*s on that side though. Still about 50 seconds off from an S rank, but I'll hit IK 40 next week and then it should be a coast. I'm definitely gunning for Jane now, assuming she's the upgrade over Piper she appears to be, and could work in a mono-Phys team as well.
I really do wish the anomaly bar was easier to see. It seems so important to have that set up for a big Disorder proc, but it can get lost in the chaos. Thankfully, just holding a spin gives you super armor and lets you focus on it, but I feel like both it and Grace's fully charged grenade meter could be made more naturally obvious. Ellen at least instantly stops doing ice damage when she's run dry to let you to know to get her off the field or recharge.

She really is just constantly throwing shade, huh?
I probably should've cropped that...oh well.

That said, it didn't take as long as I was expecting. I had hit the max number of buffs I could get by, like, floor 25, to the point where Soldier 11 was basically one shotting everything for the entire challenge. So from there on I was just coasting on duplicating tiles that reduce pressure, and the quizzes that give you more things for duplicating tiles. And avoiding optional encounters like the plague, of course.
You know what's a fun thing I didn't realize until someone pointed it out to me? All the Victoria Housekeeping characters' designs are based on old movie monsters.
The Wolfman, Jaws, Onryo, Frankenstein.
edit: Which would imply we're due for a Vampire Maid in the future.
Afaik it's a very subtle cosmetic glow or something like that

it definitely does feel like Billy wants to have his personal W-Engine since it gives a sizeable phys damage bonus upon hitting distant enemies even at base. It's like Auralynx said once he gets his c2 where the crouching shot reposition also counts a dodge and he auto counters if you successfully dodge, that helps make up for the damage you lose dodging.
But yeah, given that his gameplay is very simple and has the safety of shooting enemies at a distance with crouching shot until they close in on him and then dodging away to repeat that, it makes sense that he doesn't do as much damage compared to melee attack characters.
Still, for a freebie attacker, he seems usable enough. Anby and Nicole being so good are the outliers here.

...But it turned out to be an extra copy of Rina, who is a mainstay in my team, has a really strong M1, and now I'm guaranteed to win the 50/50 on Zhu Yuan!
Ether + Energy: Energy 4 piece is pretty much BIS for all supports and almost everybody can use the Energy 2 piece.
Phys + Atk: Generic stuff but decent on anybody.
Elec + Stun: BIS for all stunners.
Crit + Def: Crit is at least a good 2 piece for attack units, but literally nobody wants the def set, and 4 piece of their own element is better for all the non-Ellen hypercarries, both crit and anomaly.
Fire + PenR: Literally everybody likes PenR. 4 piece is decent on ult-burst based characters.
Ice + AnoP: Anomaly one is solid on Grace and Piper, and a good generic backup option for supports and stunners.

TLDW: If you have his M1 upgrade, when he drills, he gains energy. So the tech is, you intentionally whiff the first 2 hits of his enhanced combo to not waste energy, to connect with the third one and keep his energy running infinitely.
That being said, question. I was looking at my Anton stuff and I'm not sure if this is a graphical glitch or I'm missing something.
I don't understand why my M1 looks like it's disabled, and I don't seem to have any way to "click it on"? But it feels like it works in combat? Very confused.
The Ether drive disc set gives Crit Dmg, not crit. The Ice 4pc just generically increases basic and dash attack by 20% with a further increase when you proc Freeze or Shatter, which seems fine for Ellen given that she dash attacks + charged followups to get flash freeze stacks and then attacks to use them up?
I'm having a hard time figuring out your rationale for some of these combinations unless you're mixing names of the drive discs up with actual set effects
I think Soukaku and Lucy actually want Hormone Punk aka the generic attack boost 2pc since both their buffs scale off their personal attack. Rina probably wants the Pen Ratio% 2pc due to how her Core Passive works, while Nicole is flexible in whatever 2 pc she uses (but probably Ether damage?) in addition to every support wanting energy regen + team damage on chain/ultimate etc. 4pc.
Why would Koleda or Lycaon want electricity? I don't have either but i think they would either value energy regen 2pc for more ex skill usage, or penetration as a general all round damage increase or even just their respective elemental sets?
I'm very confused at you pairing Crit + Def and then saying Crit is good but nobody wants Def set?
Like yeah, Pen Ratio is good as a generic 2 pc probably as enemy defense further goes up, but I am again really confused why you would suggest Ice element to go with Grace and Piper, unless you're assuming the +10% ele dmg 2pc actually adds that damage type to their attacks instead of only increasing what already exists?
afaik that button only refers to activating the art panels, and it's disabled because you already have him at m4 which is overwriting the m1 art panel with a dressed down version
you can, if you want to see your characters more dressed, hit the button at the bottom that promps Show/Hide and see this notif

ah, that makes sense, but also barely matters because while you might be hoping to luck into slightly more efficient usage of your batteries, rng is probably just going to give you disks you junk for mats anyways while you try to make specific slot # disks at Bardic Needle with.
anyways, i really wish they would consolidate all the databases into one you can access from the menu instead of having to run around to each individual store to check databases for W-Engines and Drive discs when you want to confirm the effects on a piece of gear you don't own.
But also, from about IK 35-40, you're really hard capped on leveling... levels, as well as skills, with a low and easy to reach cap. On the equipment side, the next time farming that gets upgraded is all the way at IK45 with the leveling already slowed from running out of events on top of taking just a shitload more, and you already can get S ranked equipment, with a chance for two drops. It's not great, but that's likely where your biggest power gap is going to be. And you get ~50% more stuff from the level/skill farming things once you hit IK40 as well. Combat Sim unfortunately is random since its drops are 0-1 per card of the top level material, so it's pretty random, but every one drop of that is still worth 9 of the lower level, plus the level 2 stuff goes from 2-3 to 4-5, so a little less than double on those alone. Pre-farming isn't a waste, but the returns are so much better once you hit IK40.
Don't forget to do the Ellen banner demos for the polychromes and chips.
I'm actually genuinely surprised they gave her such a demo.
I grok her kit just fine, I just do not like it at all. And that was made abundently clear during her demo thingy to get resources.
I play a lot of Honaki Star Rail and the new character showcases are generally a temptation rather than "oh, hard pass"
Made it easy to wait for Zhu Yuan, who was a lot of fun in her intermission chapter.
I'm still struggling with Grace/Piper though, and I think it's a lot because Grace being more ranged makes it a lot harder for me to see the dodge/assist indicators, especially with the explosion of numbers, which I'd turn off, except they're useful for Ellen. Transitioning between her at range and Piper being close up is also really awkward for me, though with how much Grace jumps around in her basic strings, playing her at melee range just adds to the confusion. Damage is still good, but they definitely have survivability issues because I have a much harder time with all the screen clutter.
