What would you say middle management actually does
Good middle management?
It hires good people in lower positions who can do their jobs well, and mostly sits back and lets it happen. Shows up in meetings but is mostly gonna defer to the BSA / lower level experts and support or steer them.
It's the whole 'im maintenance, you want me not working hard' position applied to management.
Mostly it's people who are fighting imposter syndrome or asking if what they are doing is meaningful but damn the pay is pretty damn good.
