The only recent marvel movie I’ve seen was Thor. It was fine, he was fine, he had long hair again so the debacle of Ragnarok can be forgiven solid 7/10
It’s weird to me how so many people list Thor 4 and The Marvels as the worst MCU films, because those films aren’t bad, they’re just silly and low-stakes and trying to be fun.
The “worst” films should be the ones where the stories don’t make sense and the characters don’t act rationally and consistently or the performances are garbo
Like Doctor Strange 2
I think that’s my vote for worst
For me I think it is Iron Man 2. Wasted potential throughout, took the teeth away from the reason Tony was fucking up, and it was somewhat crudely used as a tool to open the MCU wide as opposed to being allowed to be a movie on its own rights.
I don't hate it, but it really wasn't "good"
Does have the best iron man suit of any of them though (yay briefcase)

Let's play Mario Kart or something...
I probably could have saved myself so much time if I just recorded the timestamps of the last time these files were modified and then skip reading them if they haven't... but we weren't supposed to still be relying on this shit code I threw together we were supposed to buy a real thing like 2 years ago...

Iron Man 2 wasn’t necessarily bad imo but yeah I think they fucked up by chickening out on the Demon In A Bottle story and changing it to Super Staff Infection or some shit

Until this past year, my ex had never seen the original trilogy of Star Wars films, and we once had a game at a board game night where we (the group) asked her to recount how much of the plot and details she knows just from cultural osmosis. She got it, like, 90% right!
Okay I just read about dispensational premillennialist Christianity and I'll tell you what: it's not good.
eeehhh...it can definitely be taken in some wacky directions, for sure, but the alternative can have some really messed up connotations.
Like, dispensationalism is ultimately the belief that God has worked in different ways throughout history and has a plan to operate in distinct stages. It's inherent to the idea that no, we are not supposed to be following the OT law or trying to enact a theocracy.
One of the major alternatives to it, and one that is held to some extent or another by a pretty big majority of Christians including Catholics and Mormons to some extent, is some variation of Dominionism which amounts to "its our duty to make sure the whole world ends up Christian". You can imagine that there's pretty different implications for policy between a belief that God is going to enact things in His time, and one which says that the trend of history is supposed to be the world getting more and more Christian and if it isn't, we have to adjust the trajectory. Having been raised dispensational and with an emphasis on the "narrow gate", that we cannot and should not expect the world to embrace our beliefs, it has been a bit of an eye opener for me how many Christians have bought into the culture war which is totally antithetical to a dispensational outlook.

You can't sell Iron Man T-shirts and backpacks if he's an alcoholic in the movie.

Yeah this was my experience with them too as I didn’t watch them until my early 20s
During Covid I tried to watch a lot of classic movies I hadn’t seen before (taxi driver, pulp fiction, usual suspects off the top of my head) and I was shocked at how much I knew just from like watching the Simpsons growing up
i had an uber driver in boston tell me about how he'd love it if the country could just get its act together and kill all of the socialist <slurs> and i just had to smile and nod
talk about a three star ride
