What country should I move to?

in Social Entropy++
I’m in the UK, usually Scotland but I spend a lot of time in England for family etc.

I can steer ships and coxswain boats (out of date licences, just mentioning it), drive forklifts, can man most cranes and similar lifting systems, put up scaffolding, do general handyman stuff, very personable and healthy with a background in admin, logistics (helped out a lot during the initial covid vaccinations in the UK), marine warfare (don’t recommend) and protest organisation. I also ran a charity ice rink one time. I liked that. I’m very much opposed to the far right and believe all people are equal and deserve to live free.

You can see my problem.

So! Hit me with what you think the best place to be is.

    It sounds like you know a lot about boats, so maybe an island with really nice weather? Cypress? Malta? Maybe something more tropical? I dunno anything about the politics of those places though.

    honestly if you're looking for someplace that respects freedom and human beings, your best bet is finding some empty island and making your own egalitarian country.

    I think you should take a scientific approach. Live in each country for a week and pick your favourites. In round 2 try living in those for a month, and so on

    seems to me the obvious answer is to upgrade to New Scotland

    Been looking at Orkney, which is just an island off Scotland, not because they’re any different politically, naturally it’s still in the UK, but then you could tell people—

    I recommend staying in Scotland and just having Scotland leave the UK.

    I mean, it kinda sounds like the place for you is a life of piracy on the open seas

    Ireland's maybe not so bad? It's still in the EU, for example, which seems to do pretty alright on being a decent governing body relatively. Can't say I know too much about the current government of Ireland itself though.

    Amsterdam is pretty nice. But I only visited it, so I cannot guarantee that the table full of booze peddled by drunken friends is the main mode of transport or not.

    Ireland is a dang good pick! I feel like they’ve suffered enough British people though… I’ll think it over.
