Describing this as a bad thing is very foreign to me because in my experience being in a parking lot at 10pm is more often than not a positive experience and if it's snowing in an empty parking lot hell yeah let's rip some skids

i think for most people it depends on "do i have to be out in the snow" vs "i choose to be out in the snow" first one is a PITA, 2nd is fun

the snow isn't even proper snow

it's just ice dust, leaves tiny dunes and crazy patterns on pavement, gets blown in your face by the wind

I associate quiet light evening snows with it being a really cozy, isolating in a nice way vibe

Once there's enough snow it dampens the sound and gets really peaceful, and it looks beautiful dancing under the street lights

Add that crunch of snow underfoot and that's a good time

One time I had to go pick up a friend from work in the middle of a nasty thundersnow storm on Christmas Eve.

My tires couldn't grip the road basically at all because it was that thickly fluffy but really lightly packed shit, not sleet but only a few degrees from it, and it was coming down in fuckin sheets. Must have been 5 or 6 inches in half as many hours.

It hasn't snowed more than an inch or so at a time the past two years though.
