Moment of the Week for 06/13/07

edited June 2007 in Graphic Violence
What, a moment of the week thread before comics are even out? Yup, because I got two of my comics early this week and couldn't wait.

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #21
Robbie verbally hands JJ his ass for wanting to further shit on Pete in the Bugle. He went so far as to blame JJ and himself for publishing anti-hero stuff over the years. Later, Robbie goes to apologize. After he does, JJ fucking fires him. I never thought I'd see the day.

When he dies, I hope they write "Worst Affirmative Action Hire, EVER" on his grave. His corpse should be trolled.

holy shit. this isn't a "moment of the week" per se, but it definitely counts for me. I took everyone's advice and finally picked up the first Runaways trade.

    holy fuck it's awesome.

Dear Lord it gets so much better than the first trade. You're in for a treat.

There are digests and hardcovers, so I don't know what he means by trade.

    Hasn't Jonah done that before?

Possibly, but not when I was reading the book, so it's like it never happened.

Also, I guess I could scan it, but I'm lazy. If there's no scan of it by Thursday, I'll hook you up.

Personally this was my favourite part

Despite the anti-climax and the large Cable presence, I really enjoyed C&D this month

Much better than last month's, at any rate

    Oh dear god.
    That is wonderful.

    I don't care if
the entire Mighty Avengers turns out to be Skrulls and the whole Civil War thing was a Skrull plot
    That right there?
    Makes up for it.

Shit, that makes up for Winnick on Green Arrow, and that's not even Marvel.

New X-Men had at least several shades of awesome.
Elixer growing David's heart back. X-13 reduced to a pile of bones and blades. Aneole realizing there's more to him than meets the eye. Dust and Mercury together against Belasco. Magik + Pixie = soulsword. Julian and Surge not taking no for an answer.

I know it's not everybody's cup of tea but I seriously think New X-Men is my favorite superhero book going right now. I just love Skottie Young's art.
