The mecca of all that is nerd. For four glorious days, the Indianapolis Convention Center plays host to the greatest gathering of the game industry in the world. At Indianapolis, world champions are crowned, product announced and sold, games resurrected, and for a nigh-continuous 96 hours, games are played.
I went for the first time last year, and I'm frothing with expectation for this year's show for several reasons, not the least of which is Black Library giving away copies of the Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy ruleset. However, two of my buddies who went last year aren't going this year, stranding me and another friend trying to find two more to roadtrip with us to Indy.

Also, is GW going to show up this year?
The con is in mid-August, I believe. I'm in Hamilton, Ohio, about 2 hours drive from Indy. Me and my bud are really looking for roomies, for any who'd be interested in going.
I should, too. Last year was magnificent.
For the most part, GW doesn't seem to want much to do with the "game industry" as a whole, beyond the specialist arms (Black Industries and Sabertooth). They don't want to be one game among many, but rather a unique hobby... "I play tabletop games, snowboard, and collect/paint/play Warhammer" instead of "I play Warhammer, D&D, etc...".
That being said, after working and attending Gen Con for about five years, I will never go back.
Plus I've never been, it's not far away, and I've nothing else to do.
I want to know if there will be any Type 1 MTG tournaments and if I have to sign up or anything.
Probably gencon.com I guess.
*googles*
yep. RTFM.
Is hard to read.
Plus we ran Mutant and Mastermind games late into the morning, which was awesome.
