So, we've all had those sleepless nights. You lie there, but you can't fall asleep. What is there to do?

Well, if you're smart, you get up, make a sandwhich, and turn on one of the many late night TV shows that are on.



First, there's the Late Show, with David Letterman. Airs on CBS. I can't say much about Letterman, besides the fact that he's like sixty and has a kid.



Second, there's the Late Show with Jay Leno's chin, and its sidekick, Jay Leno. Leno airs on NBC. He's set to leave in 2009, being replaced by...



Conan, my personal favorite. Airs after Leno on NBC. Conan's got the best hair in the business, and he used to write for both the Simpsons and SNL.


Now, these aren't the only late night shows on TV. Tell me, SE++. What do you watch when you can't sleep?

I was driven to make this thread because Bear Grylls is on Conan tonight.

I wonder how much stuff Conan is going to bring over from his show when he takes over for Jay, and how much NBC is gonna say "nope, you got away with this at 12:30, but not at 11:30."

I love Conan. Saw him live one time like 7 years ago. He had Seth Green as a guest. And there was a sketch where the dude who's in all the sketches was in speedos. Good stuff.

The little string dance he does is hot.

I don't really see how Conan's current routine will work at all in Leno's spot.
All the stuff I love about Conan seems like it'd be lost in the move.

I love those kind of skits.

I also love "Will it Float?"

And that time they just threw a bunch of flour off the roof of the building. I love when they throw stuff off the building.

Okay, I don't have cable, yeah yeah it sucks blah blah. But at like 1:30 or something, on channel 39, NBC, there's the Carson Dailey Show. The show itself is really freakin bad, the jokes are horrible the guests are idiots, whole nine yards. But it's so damn funny to me. I swear it looks like Carson hates his job, everytime he says a joke he has that look and tone of, "God this is just not funny" and "I hope someone in the audience brought a gun today, I want to die." And it amuses the hell out of me. . .

Yeah, Carson is the worst of the three NBC shows.

I mean, I watch Leno and Conan, turn to Sportscenter while Carson is on, then they usually show a re-run of Leno.

I remember those sketches, Jordyn. Those were rad.

Although the way, way early days when Chris Elliot played the homeless dude that living under the stairs.

Like, when he did the taste test to see if corn oil and canola oil really tasted different.

And he just hauled off and chugged like half a bottle of each.

That's some good comedy right there.
