I'm not against some Ender's Game, uh, games, but it would really be a horrible punch to the gut if they completely sucked, and I'm still holding out hope for the movie.
Though, if I could play as a bugger in an MMO based off the books, that would be amazing.
cliffhanger ending aside, it's still kinda a stretch to call advent risings storyline good. The best thing i could say about is that there was indeed a story..kinda
There's another book in the main storyline (the Ender line, not the other ones like the Shadow books) coming out this October? Why didn't I know this? I thought I would know this.

It was no worse than most video game stories, and better than most JRPG storylines.
Also, regardless of the bugs, the gameplay of Advent Rising was awesome. I will never stop praising its glories.

Most JRPGs have shitty story lines so that isn't saying much.
Actually the thing I liked about Advent Rising was the dialog. It actually felt somewhat organic. Like somebody would say it without the intention of providing exposition to someone who just happened to be around.

See, you guys all think it will be based on Ender's Game, but it will actually be a sim game about converting people to Mormonism.
I keed, I keed! I think a game would be pretty cool, but I do wonder what genre it would be. Thinking about the different sections of Ender's Game, I can see a video game based on it being an FPS (anti-grav training games), an Adventure game (the little game Ender plays on his tablet), a Strategy/Tactical game (the simulations they go through near the end), or a Space Sim. It'd be hard to find a way to mesh all of these together.
Or they could just include all of them in different sections, and create the greatest game ever.
It would be so amazing if you could create your own character to enroll in Battle School, then assemble your own custom team to use in the Battle Room.
I am still waiting on Advent Rising 2, PC/Wii only please.
I loved Advent Rising 1 (PC not the Xbox version), and I can only imagine how awesome a port would be on the Wii with waggle. It might even generate enough sales for a sequel. Imagine levitating enemies with a hand and PHYSICALLY throwing them into a wall. God why isn't this happening, it cant cost that much to port it.
Storyline aside, I think a zero gravity combat game could potentially be cool. They'd have to get pretty creative with the controls, though. Maybe one analog stick could control your orientation and one could control your view, and there would be separate buttons for pushing off or grabbing on to things.

My point was more that complaining about storylines in video games isn't saying much.

Wait... as in we're finally going to find out what happens after they go to that weird disease planet? That's awesome!

No, after looking at a synopsis, it looks like it takes place during his time in Battle School.
Dissapointment.

Orson Scott Card is kinda a huge douche.
Also he might be crazy, and not in the good way. In the Ann Coulter way.

There are very few people in this world who are Ann Coulter crazy. She's like if a transexual got possesed by the spirit of the Republican party that got drunk at a party.
I still need to read Ender's Game. Maybe I'll order it off of Barnes & Nobles or something. Has to be better than that turd Empire just judging from what everyone is saying about it.
What are the other books that OSC has written that are worth getting?
As far as Advent Rising, I never played it but it always looked interesting to me. Sucks that they aren't making another game.
I'm not a big fan of OSC though I liked Ender's Game a ton, but that was still an interesting read. I especially liked how when confronted with the issue of videogame violence, he said that the best thing companies could do would be to add a parental control timer to games where parents could set a time limit to play and then the game would automatically autosave and turn off for the day when that limit was reached.

I still want to play it, despite the reviews. The PC version though.

at least, once you got a bunch of powers.
Hamlet will be Hamlet
An ineffable tragedy of the human spirit that still resonates, even today.

If anything that would require more genius than a standard control scheme.
Though it's hilarious that you equate the PS3's motion control with the Wii's.

Mediocre, yes, horrible, no.
Although I would cry if it sucked.
Wouldn't stop me from playing, though.
Bradbury was always kind of a douche, too.
I try to separate the art from the artist when I find myself not liking the artist.
Why? (on both accounts).

I don't even think I read Xenocide, actually.
