A particularly bad case of third degree sideburns - Hospital Tycoon

So, uh, supposedly this is the spiritual successor to Theme Hospital, but it's been pretty much ignored by the media and most of what I've heard registers it as pretty mediocre. Anybody here checked it out? If all it suffers from is outdated gameplay too similar to Theme Hospital's, then I'm sure I'd survive. It does look to have a similar sense of humor in the maladies, but the social wrangling that you have to do amongst your staff looks... irritating to say the least, and the rigidity of the building system is really really bizarre (you just plop down rooms, not 'draw' out space.

So... anyway... anybody have any thoughts on the game now that it's been out for a couple weeks?

Here, have some screenshots.

Granted, I was once a professional grammar Nazi, but it's Lyme's Disease.

Although that guy does appear to be turning green, so maybe the floating head is talking about something else entirely.

Quite likely, since Lyme's Disease isn't even contagious.

It'd be cool if they worked in a 'it's not Lupus' gag in there.

I LOVED Theme Hospital, so I guess I'll be checking it out. It doesn't look that great though; the humour is really forced, and, well, not that funny.

Hmm, looks like Scrubs meets The Sims. Pass.

I'd play a demo, though. Any word of them releasing one?

Ok, this review makes it sound rather bad. Guess I'll pass for now.

Well, the project they were working on was Republic 2... and after the original Republic was... uh... shall we say... not popular... I got the feeling that it was a bit more personal than that.
