I am desperately in need of new music! This week i have been mostly listening to; Queen Adreena, Panic at the Disco, the soundtrack on Burnout Revenge.
Can anyone recommend anything i might like? Preferably something that puts you in a good mood as i have enough music to slit your wrists by from my angsty teenage years.
Well I haven't listened to it yet.. but the White Stripes just came out with a new album. Might not put you in a "good" mood, but it's probably not depressing like Panic at the Disco or whatever lousy emo band.

I don't know if you do this already, but you should listen to Weezer's Blue and Pinkerton albums.
Don't bother with their other stuff, it just doesn't hold enough clout.

Music is extremely personal, how the heck does it "hold clout"? No context.

This is a great list, and the player is pretty sweet.
I would also suggest listening to (on the same player at the above link):
Andrew Bird
Blonde Redhead
Cornelius
Explosions in the Sky
Justice
Ratatat
Silversun Pickups
Sparklehorse
And also, gonna second Girl Talk because that shit is just so awesome.
As for stuff that isn't on that list, check out Dan Deacon, Deerhunter and Battles (the new Battles album is really good).
The one band that I like that no one else knows about (no point in naming bands you've heard yourself) is The Gaskets. I think they've got some stuff out for download, look for stuff from their first CD especially.
If new to you, and you want something upbeat I highly recommend delving back into the mid-late 90s pop-punk/pop-ska stuffs.
Anti-Flag
Less Than Jake
Skankin' Pickle
Bruce Lee Band
Goldfinger
Mighty Mighty Bosstones
MxPx

If you like Queen Adreena, then you should really check out Daisy Chainsaw that used to be KatieJane's and Crispin's old band.
My off kilter suggestions would be that some of QAs early stuff sounds a bit like Miranda Sex Garden (although MSG tend to be all over the place when it comes to musical style, Fairy Tales of Slavery is a good starting point).
Thanks guys!
I've got sooo much music to listen to this weekend now!
I actually went out to see some local metal/ska bands last night which were pretty good. "The JB Conspiracy" were headlining and also worth a mention were "My own religion".
I'll let you know if i find anything really superb on my continuing quest.

Are you going to Pitchfork? Because all of them are playing.
I'm really psyched to see Dan Deacon, and New Pornographers are playing too.
Hell, Thurston Moore and Yoko Ono are going to do a song together.
It's going to be awesome.
Man I would love to go but I just can't afford it (plus I think it's semi-sold out right now). Battles came to Atlanta last friday and Deerhunter is from Atlanta so they are here all the time. Dan Deacon and Girl Talk will be here together on Sept 22nd. It's like Pitchfork is coming to me!

Also, UNKLE. The new album is wonderful.
you have to give me music for me to know if I like it or not
horrible acts can have great names and vice versa so its hard to will yourself to go find music about these people of your own effort
on that note
hype machine is great

All Canadian indie for free basically. runs the gamut of genre so I'm sure you'll find something you like.
I would recommend looking at:
The Awkward Stage
Arcs
Kill the Lights
The Wooden Stars
Also the Podcast which plays the best of the music and gives you some history on them.
Nonpoint
and if you listen to the lyrics, pullchain

Listen to this man.
