Principal photography starts today on Indy IV. Would you fucking believe it.

The Man With The Hat is Back
June 21, 2007

For the first time since 1989, Harrison Ford dons the familiar costume on Thursday, June 21, 2007, as the upcoming Indiana Jones adventure begins production under the direction of Steven Spielberg. The new Indiana Jones movie is set in the 1950s and stars Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, John Hurt, Ray Winstone and Jim Broadbent. The Lucasfilm Ltd. production will be released by Paramount Pictures worldwide on May 22, 2008.

Plot rumour
The film starts with Trinity, the first nuclear weapons test in 1945, and John Hurt plays Einstein.

Anyone else excited for this. Shia Lebouf (the whiny kid in the new Transformers movie, also the whiny cussin' kid in I Robot) plays Indianas son. No word on whether Sean Connery returns as the father, to be honest, unlikely. He said long ago it would take a lot to bring him out of official acting retirement.

Maybe Lucas could regain some lost credibility with Phantom Menace thru to Sith.

That said, there was a supposed leaked script out including alien artifacts and Area 51, which is awful awful idea.

heres hoping they dont fuck this up. cause sure, Star wars, you can fuck up once, maybe twice cause its star wars. This is fucking indiana fucking jones. To be it is the better and more flawless franchise (yes, I adored temple of doom)

Shia Lebouf is a good actor, the kid's got chops.

Oh and yes there is word on Connery, the studio has said that he won't be reprising the role.

afaik hes just bitter at being indiana and han solo his entire life.

which isnt exactly going to change soon.

they did a fantastic 25 years of indy interview with him in Empire magazine in which he basically said 'im sick to fucking death of being asked how it felt to be han solo, or do i wish i had another role like that'

He definetly does see Indy and Han as burdens on his career, even though he owes it to those characters.

That said, this is INDY 4, how is that now awesome news.

I can back up the Connery thing. He has said that if there was something that could bring him out, it was this. But it didn't.

While the man with the hat is back, this time he's not bringing his Dad. Sean Connery, who retired from acting in 2005, said:

"I get asked the question so often, I thought it best to make an announcement. I thought long and hard about it and if anything could have pulled me out of retirement it would have been an Indiana Jones film. I love working with Steven and George, and it goes without saying that it is an honor to have Harrison as my son. But in the end, retirement is just too damned much fun. I, do however, have one bit of advice for Junior: Demand that the critters be digital, the cliffs be low, and for goodness sake keep that whip by your side at all times in case you need to escape from the stunt coordinator! This is a remarkable cast, and I can only say, 'Break a leg, everyone.' I'll see you on May 22, 2008, at the theater!"

I don't know about his mental state but it's almost creepy that he looks just about the same as he used to. It's like he's been absorbing the youth from Mark Hamill.

He definetly looks like an oldy Indy, which is true.

I mean, he doesnt look like some really very old dude doing a role he is 20 years too old for, he looks like he literally is only 10 years older.

I don't know why people are always hating on him. He's a good actor, he was great in Constatine, I, Robot, and Disturbia, and looks like he'll be an actually good human character in the Transformers movie.

    No.

Fuck Lizzie Maguire and everyone in it. (Except the dad. He was Lewis from Revenge of the Nerds. He's got a pass for that.)

    Shia was in Even Stevens.

Christy Romano from Even Stevens wasn't half bad either. But she couldn't hold a candle to Shia. At least she's got that KP gig going for her.

I knew when I saw that show that this kid was gonna be huge.
