LttP: Polarium

So, I just dug out my Polarium cart, needing something to do. This game is freakin' ZEN, man. I'm way more relaxed than when I was trying to deal with a pair of pichus on speed in SSBM, which is probably a good thing.

FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW!
Copied from Wikipedia:
Polarium (Chokkan Hito-fude (直感ヒトフデ, Chokkan Hito-fude?) in Japan) is a puzzle game developed by Mitchell Corporation for the Nintendo DS. In the game, players use a stylus to draw lines on the DS's touch screen, flipping black and white tiles to clear puzzles.

Game modes!
* Challenge Blocks of tiles continually fall from above. Players must rapidly clear tiles by drawing lines to create horizontal rows of the same color. The game is over when the blocks of tiles reach the top of the top-screen. There are 10 levels, players advance one level for every 100 lines cleared. Each level begins with a number drawn with the tiles, and ends with a row of pink tiles. When these pink tiles reach the bottom of the screen, the entire screen is cleared and a 10,000 point bonus is awarded. The lines that fall from the top in each level have characteristics distinct to that level. For instance, Level 1 consists mostly of 3 line groups that can be cleared with one stroke.
o Practice Practice is similar to challenge mode, in that blocks continuously fill from the top. However, gameplay is limited to one level. Any level reached by the player in normal challenge mode can be played. There is no time limit, or penalty for not clearing the lines.
o High Scores Win or lose, if a player scores enough points, they are given a chance to draw a picture for their entry in the high score list. You can view the icons, score, number of lines cleared for the top three scores from the challenge mode screen. Scores are also given grades, i.e. 196,680 points is a D-.
* Puzzle: Players must figure out how to clear complex puzzles in one continuous stroke. Players are challenged to clear 100 included puzzles or create their own custom puzzles. Numerical passwords to these puzzles can be generated and swapped with friends. Once all the puzzles are cleared a smiley face appears on both screens, flipping from black to white with text announcing that all 100 puzzles, and the credits are unlocked.
* Versus: Compete against friends to clear puzzles. As lines are cleared, they'll appear on the foe's screen. Flip the opponent's tiles, earn power-ups, block their border tiles, and more.
* Lounge: The place to access tutorials, manage game preferences, and wirelessly sync with other players to exchange custom puzzles. Players can also view the credits once they have been unlocked.

So, anyone else still play this thing? Anyone have some cool puzzles they saved? Is that sequel around anywhere to be found, and must it be played without the touchscreen? Why am I asking so many questions? All this and more will be answered on....The late, to the party!

Tl;dr: Polarium good. Who has puzzles? Discuss.

A few hours ago, I was thinking of making this thread. Weird.

Anyways, here's something that seemingly no one is aware of.

    Hopefully now, you are aware.

I still pull this out every now and then hoping to get 1000 lines. I figure all of my Ouendaning should've come in handy by now.

I still have Polarium Advance to get to as well. And what's really cool about that is the passwords used in the DS game also work in the Advance game, and I think vice-versa as well.

Bought this last week for $5 at Toys R Us.

It is okay, worth what I purchased it for. Sure ain't worth the $20 price tag that it had under it.

Are you doing the puzzles? The challenge mode is hardly worth one's time. The fun of the game comes from said puzzles.

Bought this the day it came out since I was looking for a puzzle game on DS (and there weren't many choices at the time) and I didn't really care for it. Seemed a little too simple for my tastes. Gladly traded it in for Tetris DS.

Good game that gets pretty frantic at higher levels even if it does start off mind-numbingly simple. Glad I picked it up since it really helped get me through that long drought after the DS launch but since then there have been a large number of games that I enjoy a lot more that have come out so it doesn't get much playtime anymore.

Still if you can find it for cheap and haven't played it it's definately worth picking up.
