So, I was just playing some Crackdown, firing some Lobber Rockets into the air, and I thought "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if Realtime Worlds released a download that made all rockets explode into Fireworks, just for tomorrow (The 4th of July)?"

And that got me thinking, what other games would benefit from holiday treats? What games have already benefitted from it?

World of Warcraft has a billion events centered around holidays. Most MMOs do, but they have a bunch. NiGHTS, too, had a Christmas version of the game. Kameo too, I believe.

I myself would like to see holiday themes in things like Resident Evil 4. I think it would be neat to see one of those spiked Regenerators slither towards you with tinsel wound around his spines and maybe some jingly bells to accentuate their raspy breathing.

The Simpsons: Hit and Run sort of had this feature in the title screen, I recall. I only saw the one for when it's Halloween. You see a carved pumpkin among other Halloween decorations in their family room.

Oh yeah, Hit and Run I remember. I just think it would cool to go into Co-Op in Crackdown, go on the beach, and have a fireworks show.

I think Dungeon Keeper had some neat date related easter eggs. But yeah, games need to make better use of the 4th dimension.
