HDTV LCDs - Viewsonic models

So, my upcoming new job and move has made me finally ditch my archaic CRT and start shopping for an HDTV. I drove around today and priced out some models from Best Buy, Future Shop, Costco, etc etc. I'm not looking to spend a fortune as my plan is to only have this TV for ~2years or so until I can pay off my school loans and start making a bit more money, at which point I'll be moving to an actual city and can get something larger. (see below if you're confused)

The Viewsonic models at Costco seemed to offer the best price for quality. The ones I were looking at:
N3252w - 32" for $649. 8ms, 1000:1, integrated Tuner, 1 of each type of input
N2635w - 26" for $499. 8ms, 800:1, integrated Tuner, 1 of each input except 2 Component.

The 35 models are this year's, but Costco didn't have the 32" size of them in yet, only last year's 52 model.

So, does anyone else have a Viewsonic monitor and watch to comment on the quality? Do you like it? Hate it? Maybe another suggestion of model or brand for around that price?

Some things to remember; I can't break the bank in price, I'm moving to a *very* remote community (read: 2000ppl) which is 5 hours away from the nearest city so reliability is a must, and 32" is the max size due to moving constraints.

Tobias: Or it could be your colon. I'd want to get in there and find some answers.

Why not go with the Vizios? Costco sells the 32" Vizio for $599. and it has 2 HDMI and Component inputs.

Before you buy an LCD HDTV, measure the aspect ratio. Measure the width of the TV, and then divide it by the height of the TV. Many LCD HDTVs are actually LCD monitors retrofitted with a TV tuner and component inputs, etc. If this ratio is 1.6 (16:10) then you have an LCD monitor retrofitted which is not ideal, as it will stretch HD content most likely. If the ratio is 1.78 (16x9), then you are good and this is the correct aspect ratio for HD.

The Viewsonic website lists both panels as Aspect Ration of 16:9, so no problems there.

As for the Vizios, I'll have to take a look at them when I head back tomorrow. HDMI isn't really a need though, I only have a Premium 360 and a Wii, so no real need for HDMI. And I wont be getting a HD / BR DVD player any time soon (no where to rent movies from!), so something like 2 components or 1 component and a VGA will do for both consoles. But that is a nice price.

Remember that HDMI converts to DVI easily.

so are you opposed to only shopping? if not I'd suggest newegg or tigerdirect.

May not be any cheaper, and if it is, might not be enough to be worth it.

Viewsonics have bad pictures when compared to other name-brand models.

Newegg I don't think is an option cause its in the US. No thanks to outrageous customs and excise charges. I checked out Tiger and they have some nice prices, but the shipping kills any deal. So like you said, its not cheap enough to be worth it unfortunately.

Yah good point. I called Costco today to see if they had the VX32L model but they said they didn't even stock Vizio LCDs, which made me rather O_o.

I have a ViewSonic CRT monitor that's probably the best looking CRT I've ever seen. This doesn't translate directly to LCD monitors in any way, but they aren't exactly a no-name budget display company.

You should be able to order from Costco.com, or you can see if they can put in an order for you.
