Blogging software?

Anyone know of some good blogging software?

I'm looking for something 'simple'; as in I don't want a bunch of junk cluttering the main page.
Also something fast.

Suggestions?

also, I can't use any services (like blogger) cause it has to run internally on an intranet (no internet access).

    Tried wordpress, didn't like it. It also gets really slow under heavy load.

    EDIT: actucally let me try it again. I haven't used it for awhile and looks like the new version might be better.
