I hope the eloquence of my title didn't throw any of you off. There is no tender love or even fecal matter in this thread.

My Grandma got a Nikon CoolPix P4 and I have absolutely no idea what the hell kind of cable it uses:

It is slightly smaller than a mini USB plug, and I couldn't find any information on the Nikon website. I'll give the manual a shot when I get a chance, but if any of you fine lads can tell just by seeing it, well, I'll be all kinds of impressed.

    That's the same plugin my phone uses (ppc-6700). I believe it is indeed custom usb.

    I swear, I have like four of these kind of cables. Two are four- and five-pin mini B, and two with custom connectors for cameras. It's irritating as hell matching the right cable to the right device.

    I don't believe it is custom, per se.

    There is mini USB A, and mini USB B. And some other mini USB that a lot of things use, so you don't *have* to buy it branded, it's still universal - sorta.

    Believe me, there are also custom USB cords. My Fuji camera had a custom cord that was impossible to replace unless I got the exact same cord. Annoying as hell.
