Agreed. I'd like to do Plastic Man, but I've never read anything that he's been in, save for 52, and he only makes slight appearances there.
I was considering Plastic Man just for the shear possibilities.
It's why I put Guy Gardner and Deadman over Robin, because those two just have so much more room to play with (abilities wise)

Muffin, I suggest we use two names. One being THE MUFFANN, because when pronounced it still sounds like muffin. Or perhaps The Muffin Vann, which makes everyone think of a van full of muffins.

Edit: I'm down for round-robin style if everyone else is okay with the extra time it'll take. Single elim is probably the only way I wouldn't like, because it's probably going to be more fun if people get to produce more than one comic if they lose in the opener..
Basically, I'd divide everyone into divisions (four creative teams per division). They'd play everyone in the division once (maybe twice, I'll ask again after we hit the end of the first batch) and maybe one person from outside the division just for shits and giggles. The winners of the divisions would advance to the playoffs, with maybe a few wild card teams, in a standard format tournament to determine the winner.
So, anywhere from four to eight matches, depending on how you guys feel, with three or four more if you make the playoffs.
There'd be at least a week in between each match, and there'd be matches on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (this is what I have worked out so far). And if you don't think you can meet a deadline, don't worry, I have ways of making sure a match occurs.
I certainly expect wackier events than a spelling bee. That spelling bee had better well be on the moon. With Skrulls for judges. And... The moon has to be self-detonating. With that big angry face it had in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
Maybe "Theme week" fights. Monday it's a gritty super realistic Frank Miller Spider-man and Deadpool vs Captain America and Hawkeye, then Wednesday it's a Spelling bee, and Friday it's a dance-off.
