Sound stopped working [Solved]

So i installed a video card yesterday, msi nx8800 GTx, it works great but but but i've lost all sound. My soundcard is a Sb audigy 2 zs.

Things i've checked:
The sound is enabled in the os
speakers are getting power
the volume is up
drivers are up to date
Device manager recognizes the device
I've checked that the jack is in the correct place.
I opened up the case again and made sure everything is where it should be.

Thats pretty much the end of my expertise, so euh yeah, what should i look into next? Also, how do i check if my motherboard has onboard sound, so i can switch to that maybe. Also, how do i actually switch between those.

Solved: see last post, now i can listen to my chemical romance again! (kidding)

I don't know if it's changed in recent years, but on my 5 year old computer I'd go into the BIOS menu to shut off the onboard sound.

Does the OS think that the sound is working properly? It apparently lets you set the volume level, so I'm thinking yes. Do visualizers work correctly when you play music, or do they act like there's nothing being played?

Try a different set of speakers, or headphones, maybe. I think most problems with the sound card, drivers or OS would result in your sound options being greyed out. Also check to make sure you're not missing a volume setting somewhere -- both the main volume control and the Wave output in the Windows control panel, the volume on whatever software you're using to test it (and that you have both channels enabled, on the off chance you're using a video player to test), and whatever funky control panel your sound card came with, if applicable.

The os doesn't think anything is wrong, except an "unkown error," i got when i tried windows media center to play a cd. Wmp plays a cd, visualization works and everything i just can't hear anything. I tried a second set of speakers, they also do not work. Two headphones, also nothing. Sound is turned in windows, sound control panel and the programs i'm using.

I'd say i fucked up inside the case, but i've checked like 8 times already.

edit: stuck the card in another slot, just to see if it made any difference. Reinstalled drivers, but one device came up as ?/! unidentified, on the device manager. You know what i'm talking about. So euh, how do i fix that? Since it might be the cause of my soundlessness.

This was the answer to my troubles, figured i'd post it for people who might experience the same problem.
