I'm guilty of having a stupid name. Way back in my EQ1 days my characters name was Moorening Woulde. I was shocked when people didn't catch it out right. I was even more shocked when a GM came and took away my last name while I was sitting next to a guy name Klit Likker. They didn't do anything about his name, but mine was offensive.

Maybe you could get away with it if you spelled it 'Mourning Wood.'

In honour of this thread I renamed my new Raven Battleship in EVE This is so Raven! If you can come up with a worse name send your entries on the back of a postcard.
    How about "Quothe"?

Too high brow. I consider ship names a taunt at my enemies, a red flag waved at an enraged bull. The more purile and obnoxious the better to infuriate them. Eg. The Dick of Death both offends and begs to be proven wrong.

Also, Nevermore would make more sense with regards to your reference.

Good to know someone's taken the initiative and set up a fish-fillet business in Azeroth. But the question is, are Horde Throut brown or rainbow?

I'll take your word on it but I can't imagine that it would be too highbrow. I mean, your ship would be Quothe the Raven and you could fly around broadcasting NEVERMORE! in all caps to annoy people and wave that red flag.

And really, if people playing the game find Poe references to obscure or highbrow I worry for the future of your pretend universe. Cause they've made references to Poe on the Simpsons, I think even the Animaniacs did a "Quothe the raven" bit, but I can't find it to be certain.

Was that the guy from Coilfang? I remember seeing him opening night, but didn't think to take a pic. I'm pretty sure somebody did post it in the first terrible names thread, it may have even been you.

Honestly, reading it over when I ran into that guy, I was half-convinced that it was just one big joke.

There's a thing on SA, in Art of Warcraft, where they go through some of the RP bios people set up with FlagRP, which I once got bitched out for not using while holding an OOC conversation in SW.
    Anyway, I'll find the link.
