Majora's mask ending

I'm confused as how the Zelda game "Majora's Mask" ends.
The game begins with him finding a "long lost friend" or something, who according to wikipedia is supposed to be Navi. But at the end, he never finds Navi, he just returns to hyrule. Is it assumed that he finds her there later?

No game continues from Majora's mask, does it?

I know this is a trivial question but i'm really interested haha.

The game begins with the events from Ocarina just ending. Link is back to being a kid, and sets out on a quest to find someone. Wikipedia does say it was possibly navi, but I always thought he was looking for Saria. I don't think they ever mention it explicitly.

Anyway, majora's mask was more or less a side quest overall. It took place in its own little world, so the events there never affected the rest of Hyrule. I don't think Link returned to Hyrule though. I thought he continued in his search for someone.

This is 100% my speculation now:
In windwaker, the kingdom of hyrule has been flooded. Ganon had invaded and the hero (Link) never appeared to stop him. I always thought that while Link(Ocarina/Majora's) was off on his own journey, Ganon returned and took over.
