The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Its time again to sit down, decide how to customise it. I guess I have 2 requests:
1) Ringtone Suggestions. I have had the CTU tone, Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir", and the imperial march for when my mum calls ;-) I'm looking for something new.
2) Messages tone - there's a particular sound I'm after... Its quite common on TV, but I have no idea where to find it. Its the noise of those pneumatic chutes they used to use to transport document cylinders around - that kind of "shoomp" noise. I hink they might use it on futurama with those transportation tube.

- Final Fantasy Victory music
- Mario jumping
- Mario jumping and hitting a coin block
- Mario eating a mushroom/flower/what have you
- Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song intro "AHHHHHHH AH!"
If you have a phone that can transfer files from the computer and can use MP3s I have several that I've made myself that you might or might not like.
A Quai - Amelie OST
Ghostwriter - RJD2
Ikeaman - Fight Club OST
Heavyweight - Infected Mushroom
The Last Waltx - Oldboy OST
Organ Donor - DJ Shadow
If you're interested in any of these I can load them up and post them. I'm not sure if using part of a song as a ringtone violates any copywright laws so if it does, I won't be posting them here.
Anyone know how to get that mgs codec sound onto a Verizon Razr v3c? I tried bluetooth, but all it lets me do is organize my contact list...
Type this url into your phone's browser or send it to yourself in a text and select the 'go to' option and it will automatically download the mp3 to your phone:
Learn slight of hand, and set your ringtone to The Final Countdown by Europe. Whenever your phone rings, begin moving your foot in time to the music, make the phone appear in your hand, then answer it with as much dramatic flair as possible.
If anyone ever tells you it's a neat trick, tell them "it's not a trick; it's an illusion." :P
In all seriousness, though, the best ringtone I've ever heard is a single tone. It's short and non-intrusive, so when you inevitably forget to turn it off at some inopportune time, or you're at a restaurant or whatever, it doesn't disturb anyone else.

Brodo, Verizon's been known to lock you into using their proprietary shit for ringtones, wallpapers, and other stuff that you would want on your phone. I suggest taking a look here ( http://www.hacktherazr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1745 ) or hopping on over to www.howardforums.com to find the info you need to customize your phone. From what I can tell, you can't use Bluetooth to transfer files to your phone, so you'll need a USB cable.
I just downloaded and installed Motorola Phone tools and it walks you thru setting up your phone. Then you can make custom ringtones out of any .mp3s or .wavs you have.
I have so many but I must say the "secret" sound from the original Zelda as my txt alert is the fucking win.

You can do it over BT, but you need a program like BitPim.

Can you post this?
No Michael, it's not my trick. IT'S MY ILLUSION!
Damn, this program isn't recognizing my phone, but my Powerbook's built-in bluetooth is.
