My 3 year old brother sings 'Run It' by Chris Brown every once in a great while. When he does, just to spite his shitty music loving mother, I teach him names to call her. Got him to say 'cum guzzling gutter whore' once.
My friends looked at me like I had a second head the first time I made them listen to In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3.
Cut the throats of babies for them
Break their hearts for they were them
@#pipe - That'd be pretty awesome. And yeah, Josh is a big loss. Now they've got that douche from Dillinger Escape Plan on drums.
you should check out the comics.
The dialog is really really bad, but the setting, the art and the relationship to the music are all worth a look.
I keep meaning to. The art, from what I've seen, is pretty badass. And I've always wanted to know more about the grand scheme of things. I have a general idea of what's going on, but nothing in depth.
Y'know what I don't like about Coheed? "It's an epic storyline stretching over most of the band's material."
Fuck that noise. Not saying they're bad, just that music doesn't need to be an epic storyline. Plus, the really long and pretentious sounding album names are irritating.

Eh, I'm not gonna knock you unless you like something truly shitty. I got into Coheed because I dug the music, not for the storyline. If the storyline is pretty neat, that's just icing on the cake. But after I started listening to Coheed, I found that I had a thing for concept albums. Like Trainwreck by Boys Night Out. Fantastic album, made even better by a fantastic story.
The album names are a bother to type out though. I have to go through and edit them in Winamp sometimes, because they somehow end up cut off.

Obviously music doesn't need to be an epic storyline. Most of the time it isn't.
These guys are giving it a shot, and I think that's admirable.
I look at it like an author who, instead of writing a new universe with new characters for every book, they instead break it over a series of books.

It's like a musical version of Dune.
True, but like I said, it kinda turns me off.
And the reason I said they're not bad, is because they aren't. They just aren't a band that I like. I don't call music shitty just because I don't like it.

While I have been known to do this from time to time (Anyone see my Fuck My Chemical Romance topic in the ol' Whining like a little bitch forum?), I try to avoid it now. Brings forth unnecessary bullshit when people get all offended.

i like MCR's first album and like half of Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, and I only like Teenagers off the new album.
I do admit to liking their first album, and a couple tracks off of Sweet Cheers. But Black Parade is a steaming pile of shit. It looks and feels like a gigantic Queen wannabe, to me.

EDIT: Also, I just don't like them. The name and storyline and shit just add to it.

He sounds like a mixture of the guy from Wheatus and Dave Grohl (when he screams/yells/whatever you want to call it), imo.

I like both Wheatus and Foo Fighters, for the record. And yeah, it's pretty good. Not in my playlist everyday, but it sees a fair amount of rotation.
