I recently installed Vista Home Premium and it seemed just fine for a while. Yesterday I emptied the recycle bin and the actual bin vanished from the desktop... I found it using Windows Explorer and placed a shortcut to it on the desktop. Now, for no apparent reason I have two Desktop folders in My Documents, and doing anything with either of them (one appears to be inside the other, with the recycle bin inside that one...) just makes the situation worse.
Any thoughts on how to rectify this without my desktop imploding in some kind of IT paradox?
Start -> Control Panel -> in the search bar (top right) type in "recycle bin", Then click Show or hide common items on the desktop-> Mark the check box next to everything you want on your desktop.
Vista's search function for navigating control panel etc is amazingly awesome, worth using anytime you need to sort something out.
