    What you are talking about is insurance fraud. It is Illegal. DO NOT INTENTIONALY GET INTO AN ACCIDENT!

    Yeah, it's insurance fraud. If you want to turn this thread around (and avoid an infraction), I'd suggest changing it to ask about ways to get rid of your car with minimal monetary loss.

    Thread change of subject! How hard is it to refinance a vehicle? I started with a 6 year loan at $391 a month with a co-signer, I had little credit.

    I've got pretty damn good credit now after 2 years...how would I go about refinancing? Go up to my lender and say "hey, make it cheaper?!"

    I believe you get a new loan(re-fi loan) to pay off the old loan and then start paying off the new loan.

    but I could be wrong.
