Come on man, my gf reads GERMAN NEWS SITES on the computer. If she ever sees me watching a violent porn sketch, I'll just go "Well, hey- at least it's not a German news site".
Hey guys, I'm excited. I've decided to take my first art course next semester at the Uni I transferred to. I have no idea how good the art program is or isn't since that's not my major, but hopefully it'll help.
That's pretty awesome, Virum. I know that I've seen you post atleast once or twice on the doodle thread and various other places in AC too. I know that a lot of my friends who are film or photography majors of some sort enjoy taking up basic art courses for inspiration.
I hope you get some good teachers, for sure. I know from experience how painful it can be dealing with certain art instructors who feel like polar opposites to you at times. Last quarter, I had a guy who was big into the modern art movement and really criticized studies I did, especially from models, for concentrating too deeply on realism. Guy was a complete nut job, but luckily he was more like a sub and I only had him for like 5 weeks.
I have never had such a hard time parting with money.
It wasn't even that bad, I'm usually not affected by it very much...my typical reaction is "ah...crap"...if anything.
But giving SCAD two grand just now kinda just blew me out of the water. I had a few thousand in my savings (whee!) for the first time in...ever...it was only there for a few days...and now SCAD has it.
Wait 'til you graduate and they start hitting you up for more. I have a hard time not laughing when the alumni association calls.
I think I remember you mentioning that in the past at some point. I find that highly ridiculous...and almost borderline insulting...(that's the wrong word, but I couldn't find the one I was looking for...)
Maybe hit up the people that didn't need to taken out any loans...
...but for the rest of the 98%, go away! Millions of dollars annually is insufficient for you guys? Cripes. :-\
Woohoo. Absolute torrential rain here in london! The road outside my office has a dip just down the street from us and it's about 2 foot deep! We watched loads of cars and vans go through it making huge waves. Some nutter in a cement truck went through too fast and his splash actually went OVER the parked cars on the side of the road. Storms are fucking awesome
Hm, the forecast is saying we're gonna get stormy weather with lots of rain later in the day. I better get to the store quick... and then sit inside warm and dry and stare out the window when all hell breaks loose.
Took some photos after the rain cleared. This is outside our office.
We didn't get any of the torrential rain and by the time we took those it had drained away quite a bit, but still very cool. We made origami boats and launched them but a taxi swamped them within seconds. Damn taxi drivers!
Oh my god, it rained so hard there and the streets so completely covered up that everyone got all confused and started driving on the wrong side of the road!
Sounds like a Naked Gun style joke. Would be the equivalent of a fart joke.
Okay, how about a group of Scottish Terrier toting robbers take a bank hostage, while a SWAT team tries to break in and take them down, armed with cats, and when they fire them, they make Woofs and Meows.
Oh, and also, outside people hearing the shots are fleeing with their pet guns.

I have never posted in the chat thread ... maybe for good reason. Here's a question, what are some fun things to do in Washington? I hear that there isn't a lot so I think I am going to be drawing most of the two weeks I spend there.
Yep for good reason.

You mean as in the state of Washington? That's a lot of ground to cover... can you be more specific as to where?

I.... I read Der Spiegel.
I approve of this thread title.
The new doodle thread and the new chat thread are both derived from songs.
