God of War surround issue

I'm trying to play GoW 1 on my PS3 but surround is not working. I set the options in game to "surround" but it still plays in stereo.. Any ideas?

All other surround sources work fine by the way. Just seems to be this.

I doubt a receiver can detect Pro Logic II. So, it is in surround but not really as that's not "true" surround.

It does a pretty good job in Gran Turismo 4 though.

Have you checked the PS3's settings?

Slightly off topic, but how do I get Pro Logic to work on my XBox 360? It doesn't seem to even give me the option. All I want to do is hear the rear channels.

Even with ProLogic II, you should still hear the rear channels. On God of War, that is.

Not sure about the settings for the 360. Mine's in the shop.

It may be because I'm using HD AV cables. I only get the option for Dolby Digital 5.1, which sounds fantastic on my analog speakers. It's just not surround sound. Plugging it into my Audigy 2 didn't help either.

Maybe the 360 doesn't support PLII?
