Tales of Innocence for DS, Tales of Symphonia 2 for Wii announced.
OK. From my expeditions into NeoGAF I came across this scan.
New Tales games. Yay!
Tales of Innocence, the big thing in the scan, for the DS. Hopefully it'll be better then the... bad... Tales of Tempest. The girl looks neat, at least.
Also, in the corner you see Tales of Symphonia 2! This apperently takes place two years after ToS. The blond kid is apparently the main character.
Also a "Directors Cut" of Tales of Destiny and a PSP port of Tales of Rebirth.
I don't think two years is long enough to be reborn as a teenager.

Hopefully these games make it to America.. with Abyss and Legendia pitful sales, I'm not certain than Namco will bother to translate them..

I'm pretty sure Tales of Innocence is the name of a lesbian porn movie.
Sure Tale sof the Tempest was supposedly bad (I couldn't play it, so I can;t give an opinion) But if it was released state-side, I probably would have bought it, as it was Tales game for the DS which is something i've wanted to see over in the US for awhile now.
Sure no tales game will probably ever be as good as Tales of Destiny2/Eternia, but this "Innocence" game looks like it might be promising. I'll pray for an english release.
I bought Tales of the Tempest import. For $50. I will tell you you have every right to hate it.
Personally i'll probally import the next one for DS, and maybe the one for PSP, seeing how Rebirth never came out for PS2 here and likely wont on PSP either.

Well, true, but remember that Symphonia sold pretty well over here, so we may get Symphonia 2, at least.
I would say that based on TOS sales we should get TOS2 since it will sell here in the US on name alone. Also, Namco decided to bring Tales of the World over on the PSP and Tales of the World is a game designed by Namco as a way of thanking their hardcore fans. It contains characters from previous Tales games, some of which were never released here in the US. If they are going to bring that over they will surely bring these games over...
Doesn't Tales of the World have the same style as Symphonia?

It looks like they sampled the designs from whatever series the characters came from. Phantasia/Symphonia/Abyss: Fujishima, Legendia: whoever. The new design in Symphonia 2 looks like the work of whoever did Legendia's designs(meh).
Fujishima did Phantasia, Symphonia and Abyss. I always preferred his character designs... (Though, I think Klarth from ToP was one of his more interesting character designs). Tales of the World just has a crossover of Tales characters from different games.
[edit] Whenever I post people get in before me (Maybe I'm just slow)
Kazuto Nakazawa did Legendia's designs (And also the character designs for Samurai Champloo)
So that's it then... Wii purchase in the near future confirmed.
I was a little hesitant, to be honest. I only really wanted Mario Galaxy/MP3/Smash Bros.... But now I need this and whatever Monolith Soft releases. Damn you Nintendo! Damn you and your competitively priced console!

Heh Heh... Welcome.
What're you buyin'?
Seriously... pick up RE4 as soon as you get it. Then this, of course.

Oh right, forgot about RE4... Although I already have both the GC and PS2 versions.

Me too and I still play the hell out of RE4:WiiEdition.
The thing about Tales of Symphonia is, I got it with high hopes. I wanted to explore a huge world, engage in fun battles, and, honest to God, collect things. I was looking for the JRPGs that used to mystify me when I was a kid.
Then the story started. Gaah...It's like watching one of those cheesy animes. I just couldn't stomach it.
I've been itching to try again, though. I like the idea of JRPGs, really volumnious games, but man the plot and acting makes me cringe. Normally the turn-based battles turn me off too, but this is at least a change from that.

If only the co-op worked well.
I agree. It took me a while to get into it.
I started a new game... played for about 4 hours... then quit for months. I restarted and stomached the beginning, then I was playing it for 4 hours a day, 7 days a week. Until it was beaten.
So I want to be excited about this, because I LOVE the Tales combat system. But Symphonia...ugh. The story dragged so hard for me, and was so over-the-top cliched that I just couldn't finish it. The fact that the story of the Wii version is a sequel kind of dissapoints me. I may pick it up, eventually.

Want. So. Hard.
I stand by my decision. From the future, inhabited by evil spirit, whatever.
Also... TOS2 = Ratatosuku's Emblem(?)

He's the reason I got into Symphonia.
Really? I thought Symphonia's designs were some of the weakest the series has seen.
For me, when I see Fujishima's designs I immediately think of quality solely because of Symphonia/Abyss.

Abyss wasn't bad, but ToD and ToE's designs are still my favorites.

Um, I'm pretty sure the canon ending is the Colette ending.
So yeah, that dosn't happen.

The DS version I will be watching closely.
"I'm a warrior! You'll see!"
"Haw haw haw!"
Cue JRPG patented "village raid".
And it looks like that's one more RPG series for the DS. I'm bound to pick up at least one Tales game for the DS.
As long as TOS2 doesn't have Collette, I'll be happy (man, that girl was irritating).
