This ChoreWars thing is fucking awesometastic. I've been looking for some way to chart and record home busywork and to offer a silly incentive like this, and this works out perfectly.

It is so stupid, and yet I am so enthralled.

What's interesting is that it's yet another KEVAN game.

You know, the guy that brought us Urban Dead, among other things.

I thought it was a Warcraft joke at first. The old standby about MMOs being a lot of work.

Around these parts we just call it Wanged.

Edit: I should clarify. I am not aware of anyone really that combines the terms for the web-breaking powers of the major link providers.

    One hundred percent serious.

We used to use gold stars on the calendar for a day of chores, which we would add up at the end of the month and assign a monetary value to reward the work with some sort of minor treat. It didn't work particularly well, and this is about as damned clever a method as any I've ever seen. Laugh all you want, but I think it is actually kind of cool.

This shit is actually pretty awesome. We've got about two dozen different "adventures" set up now, with all sorts of wandering monsters and treasures we can get each time. Like doing the grocery shopping - medium constitution, high wisdom activity. 10% chance of treasure (Awesome Magazine, Dagger of Produce Selection +1, Plastic Bag of Holding, Energy Drink, Tiny Statue of a Dolphin), 60% chance of a wandering monster (Dude that wants to borrow a quarter, Drunk Guy, Fat Chick in Tiny Clothes, Bitter Beer Face). 15 xp.

Sure, it's silly as hell and ranking right up there on the faggotry scale, but if I can find something that will motivate me and my fiancee to get shit done as well as a decent scale to track how much we are each contributing, it will solve a lot of problems.

I swear to god, if another person on earth makes a webcomic that follows the "2 guys offer their opinions on video games" formula, I'll cut my wrists.

I swore to God, so you know I'm good for it. If that formula ever repeats again, I will massacre my wrists with cookie-cutters. The fun holiday kind with patterns even.

    brb got an idea.

If you don't get the PA reference then look again.

I'm not sure that was the best watch to steal either in continuity of the strip or in the real world.
