Need new writer for webcomic

How does one go about finding a person to help take over the writing portion of a long-form webcomic?

I am absolutely unable to work with the current writer for this project but I would very much like to finish it, as it's something I've wanted to do for years. I lack the confidence and several of the skills necessary to take the whole burden on myself.

The problem for finding a writer is that the story is already outlined, and I need someone to help me plan it visually and help with layouts/dialogue, which I can't do on my own. There is some room left for creativity, but not huge piles. Where the hell do you start looking for someone to take over that portion of a project that's already partly in the works? I've seen other webcomics have replacement artists, but has anyone seen it done successfully with writers?

Should I trash it completely and try to start something different on my own?

Replacing a writer is not always ideal, I'd say, as it can change the feel of any form of entertainment quite a bit to suddenly have a different voice.

I think one thing you'll need to consider is this: Are you looking for a writer who can emulate the previous style well, or are you looking for a writer who can express their own style and still create the effect you want?

Beyond that, I'd look for forums based around writers and just maybe see if anyone is interested. There are a lot of writers out there, and there are a ton of them who would jump at the chance to work in some form of creative team. You won't have much trouble finding someone to help you, the more problematic part will be in finding someone who is good at what they do.

(As a side note: I do quite a bit of writing, if you'd like to give me a PM I'd actually love to talk to you about this project / would be willing to write up some samples for you to look over if you're interested. But I don't want to turn this thread into a "applications" thread, so I'll leave it there.)

    Good question.

If I'm going to continue this project, I would be looking for someone who can emulate the style fairly well - since the style conveys pretty much what it needs to in terms of "who the (main) caracter is". I started the project in order to "do something" with the character and setting I had developed several years ago, and to use that as an excuse to practice my art. Clarice is my creation, but the current plot she's in was whipped up in only a few days as a matter of convenience. It fits in with her overall "life-story" arc, but isn't really crucial (though it does touch on crucial character- themes).

As another note, this comic is a "short story" and is only intended to be about 150 pages long or so, divided into 3 sections. It has a definite ending planned and isn't one of those ones that meanders on forever and ever and ever.
