Game Giveaway of The Day (also known as GGAoTD) is a site that gives away shareware games for free, but only for a period of twenty four hours. Usually, it's junk, but today I found a hidden gem: Space Interceptor. It's kind of a big file, and it's a pain to install (it takes roughly ten minutes to initiate installation), but the result is worth it.
Pretties:
It's a space combat shooter, kind of similar to Freespace and Wing Commander. Just thought I'd let you guys know before it's gone.
Well, this site is getting bigger and bigger, which means more opportunities to get good shareware for free. They've given away Alien Shooter and Jetz 'n' Gunz, both of which I really enjoyed. Most of the time you'll find garbage like "Zen Sudoku" and "Brave Dwarves expansion pack #545,723," but occasionally a great game comes along that I'd hate to miss.
I thought the installation went wrong too (during the keywrap screen, correct?), but I left it on and after what had to be at least 5-10 minutes it finally went to the installation screen.

Yeah, it was the keywrap screen, but it tried for 5-10 minutes then gave me an error. I think my firewall blocked it, so I'll just turn it off and try again. Glad to know the long amount of time wasn't a problem on my end though.
It's pretty fun for a free game. However, I'm disappointed in the lack of widescreen support and I'm having issues when cutscenes play. The sound is all screwed up, skips, and I can't hear a thing.

I tried to install it earlier but something went wrong. I guess I should try again soon, because I only get until midnight.
