Wireless Help w/Laptop - Weird Problem

    Looking at Sony's website, your laptop likely came with an Intel 2200BG Wireless card. From previous experience that I've had with this particular card, I'd say that you probably could use a newer driver. Earlier releases of the driver had serious connection problems, exactly like what you're describing. Try the newest drivers from Intel's site, not Sony's, as Sony's site lists drivers from Nov. 2006, while Intel has drivers from May of this year. If the Intel ones don't work right, grab the Sony ones.

    Yeah, and the local joke here is that we have two seasons - Winter and Road Construction. I have no idea why they can't seem to get anything done :)

    Also, I don't suppose you have any unused, unpartitioned drive space? If you did, you could make a new drive, make it FAT or FAT32, that way it can be mounted in Windows and Linux. That's what I always set up on dual boot machines, so I can share data between them.

    Otherwise, any place you can go where you hook in with ethernet cable instead of wireless?
