Seems that since I picked up my new video card a couple issues have developed regarding my computer display, some issues that kinda scare me when I think that perhaps my brand new video card or relatively brand new LCD monitor may be defectiveD:D:
The first issue I'm having, which shows up on whatever I am doing, whether I'm browsing the web, creating powerpoints, or just staring at my desktop. The picture/text on my screen seems to shimmer abit, which is more noticable at different times (It's not always occuring) The shimmering usually is more noticable on the text rather than images. What I mean by shimmering is - a transparent, horizontal line(s) that causes the text to appear as though it's shaking abit. You can really see this problem when viewing a basic, checkered pattern. I really hope this isn't a sign that my monitor or video card is crapping out on me, as both my monitor and video card were purchased within this year, my video card specifically a couple weeks ago. Taking note right now, this problem isn't occuring as I'm typing, however it seems to turn on and off at different timesO_o
The second issue I'm having is with a specific game engine, known to us all as Half-Life 2 & Counter Strike Source. The problem seems to be with different shades and brightness levels throughout several maps, in which case my guns, fingernails, and other weapons are very shinny and sometimes discolored. I've taken several screen shots of this problem for you guys to check out, however it seemed that when I tried to capture both the shinny nails and shinny/green discolored AK-47, the screenshot I copied and pasted into paint didn't show the discoloration, but just the shinny parts:?:
With my Counter Strike problem, I tried turning all my graphics down and the problem persisted, and the same went for turning my graphics all the way up.
I hope you guys can help me with these two very ugly problems - any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated!
Thanks
