Indie game scene at pax?

This will be my first PAX so forgive me if these are newb questions.

Just wondering what kind of indie scene PAX has. In terms of indie devs meeting, indie games being shown, etc...

As an amatuer indie dev myself I'd love to meet up with others and discuss random topics releated to the indie game development.

And whether there is a code of conduct regarding hocking your own wares so to speak?

I remember reading a post from some other random board about someone bringing a pile of their game install CDs to PAX to hand out. This seemed somewhat suspect to me, unless they paid for some kind of booth. I guess if you get in a conversation with someone and they're interested in your game, then sure, but otherwise you're just annoying people for no good reason.

Handing out stuff is highly frowned upon, as all you are doing is getting the same coverage that the other sponsors actually paid for. In the end, you are taking money from Penny Arcade by not paying them for an official space, and you are being a jerk to all those who did pay.

After I inquired about buying a booth there from Mike I asked if going boothless was OK. Its basically the same question, can I walk around handing out my stuff. The answer is no.

Here is the email you should inquire to: mikef@penny-arcade.com
