Gameboy Micro Famicom

Hey Folks. I have a Gameboy Micro famicom edition. When I touch the top right and top left corners of the faceplate, they give slightly like their loose. Unlike the original micro, the famicom version doesnt have the interchangeable faceplates.

Is this a design flaw? If someone else has one of these gameboys, could you give yours a poke and see if it's the same? I tried calling nintendo but they were unhelpful.

Thanks.

um, I have a famicom micro, and the faceplates *are* interchangable, but that edition doesn't come with any extra face plates(I should know, I pulled the faceplate off). my upper left is a little loose, the upper right is fine.

Huh. Mine even came with a note saying:

"This model of the Game Boy micro does not include changeable faceplates or a Faceplate Ejector tool."

I took that to mean the faceplate couldn't be swapped out. So it can be swapped out, just doesn't come with a tool for it?

Sounds like it. It doesn't make sense that they'd do a design change to make it impossible to replace the faceplates. So it's probably just as CAPABLE as any other, but doesn't come with any of the toys to do so.

It can be swapped out, it just doesn't come with the faceplate removal tool or the extra faceplates.

And honeslty, if you've ever seen or held the thing, you won't want to at all. it's like holding a little bit of sex in your hand.......why would you want to change that?

I did see it repackaged in a smaller box at Wal-Mart last Black Friday but I was unaware of these changes. "Limited" my ass. I made sure to find one in the older box. :)
