Ok, since there appears to be more interest than at all expected, I've decided to make a thread.
I, and Santeria64, shall be doing Parkour in Freeway Park on Thursday the 23rd, and then during the line wait on the morning of the 24th. With a possibility of "smes" filming, and TrainwreckX spectating.
For those who do not know what Parkour is, watch this video:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=QoClq0qUJ7k
But also realize that the people in that video are ridiculously good, and I am an amateur, and Santeria64 is even more inexperienced (from what he's told me). Also, It's not all jumping off buildings, and flips, and amazing stunts. The essence of Parkour, and of being a Traceur (practitioner of Parkour) is getting from one place to another regardless of obstacles, vaulting, jumping, rolling, falling, climbing, all come together in Parkour.
I don't want anyone to get hurt, and I don't want to get hurt myself, so don't try it out unless you know what you're doing, or you wouldn't mind missing PAX because you were in Harborview Medical Center.

Say what now?
Parkour: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkour
I think they were referring to the 23rd and the next morning in line as two completely seperate times.
Though I believe lining up the day before has been done before. I know a few have at least attempted, though I don't remember if security let them stay the night there.
I'm down.
I'm fucktarted, yeah I thought you said something else in your post. But I'll definatley film it on Friday. Why don't you email me at spammansam@gmail.com and we'll figure something out.
Just to warn y'all, Parkour is not just about stupid long jumps and leaping from building to building. I am at the moment incredibly sore from doing speed climbing of some rock formations up in Bellingham. Climbing, balance, speed, jumping, all that. But yeah, If you want to hang out and do some stuff the day before, I'll be at Freeway Park from 3pm till whenever everyone gets burnt out, then we can go catch some eats if you are not already going to the PAX dinner.
I'll resurrect this thread in the week before PAX (assuming it will die), so contact me by email or PM if you have any questions.

I've never been there before. Looks awesome.
Whenever you drive under the tunnel next to the tall buildings in seattle, you are going under freeway park and the convention center.
Also, dodging the homeless is fun.
Also: there's a chance we'll be using the Park for a PAX event, and load-in/setup may be taking place on the 23rd. Just a heads up.
Link plz
Read the OP, I have a link to a decent video there. Here's a link to the strength training routine I've adopted from the British guys who are in the video.

Yeah... I haven't had enough of my Parkour taped to have a video with me in it. The Strength training video is not so much a showcase of Parkour as of the type of training you do in order to get good at it. It's pretty hard to find a video that really showcases what Parkour is about, and doesn't focus all of it's attention on stunts, flips, and really long jumps.
I myself cannot flip, I can dive roll and do some nice vaults, but if ANYONE tries to trick on my watch without proving to me they can do it in controlled environs, I will make sure you spend PAX in a cast. I almost killed myself with basic front tucks, in a mat room, over a gymnastics crash pad, with two coaches working me through. Any harder and I would have fractured vertebrae in my neck.
Also, JoahW, I agree with you that Parkour is the same thing as free-running--albeit with an emphasis on efficiency-- but I must object to the order in which you present them. Parkour was the origin, and Parkour is the essence.
Parkour is the art of a Traceur, and a Traceur is this: A man which nothing stops.
Also, forgive my verbose soliloquy, I'm a tidge bit touched in the head from my friend's birthday party.
Just making sure. It's all cool. Bring me pants and all is forgotten. My pants have a bad habit of exploding during Parkour jams, as evidenced by the foot and a half long tear running knee to crotch in my newish jeans.
I've never actually done a Parkour jam. I've always been interested in it, but I've never been able to get my friends or myself motivated enough to actually do it. I'm always jumping onto and off of stuff whenever I get the chance, though.
Why not http://youtube.com/watch?v=QoClq0qUJ7k ?
Well... That was unexpected. I don't think I intended to post the EVO video, I had something along the lines of seven tabs with parkour videos open in firefox, i may have done the wrong one. but I did post this thread during a haze of sleep deprivation. Good times. Yes, that video is much much better.
And just so you're not all surprised by my age, I'm in high school, I'm 16, deal with it. Also, my campus has some really cool spot, and I can run the campus faster than almost anyone else at my school, simply because I've done it so many times. And my attempt at finding sweet pictures are lost due to the fact that it would seem no one has ever taken a picture of the outside of our campus. Lots of really cool staircases, ledges, fences, and a cool hole in a giant bush outside of the administration office that I like to jump a short path border thing into and then pop out the other side. I'm pretty bad though.
Also, because I'm not the fastest person out there, most of my stuff centers more around free running, going back to hit a ledge or rail a few times before moving on, mostly because I lack basic running speed, but I'm gonna work on that before PAX.
After the putpocket thread, im not suprised
Haha.
But dude, no worries. I'm only 18. Just don't be an idiot and hurt yourself.
But I do like moving targets!
If you think you can hit us, go ahead and try. I myself am 20-ish, so it's not like I'm some aged sage of Parkour.
edit-determined not to reveal true age
Please Dont bring nerf to the wsctc/pax.
Wouldn't dream of it. Forget I said anything.
I just like to climb stuff.
Parkour isnt a bad idea if you have had pratice and know what you are doing. Its when the n00bs are all... oh my god thats easy... then they try it and get hurt.
I know someone who does this all the time, hes pretty good (nowhere near some of those youtube videos though) but its neat to watch.
And so that the PAX big-wigs who said there might be set-up and an event going on there could confirm or deny whether we're shit out of luck.
