Staying At Paramount Hotel?

Hey all!

I was thinking that maybe a list of people who want to hang out at the Paramount Hotel would be cool. Me and my best friend are first time PAXers and would love to hang out on the Thursday before and have some travel companions to parties/PAX.

Let me know and maybe we can arrange something!

Bumping this, since it seems more of us are booking at The Paramount.

My bro and I aren't doing the whole weekend though. We're coming in on Friday and we'll check out the city on Friday afternoon. We'll be doing PAX on Saturday, and then leaving on Sunday sometime. I wish we could be there all three days, but he can't afford the time off of work.

If there are any comfy areas to hang out in the lobby, which most hotels have, we should take those over for gaming and hanging out. I'm going to PAX solo this year, and wouldn't mind being able to find other PAXers to hang out with when I'm too tired to be out and about town. I'll bring some small games with me, I think.

My bf and I are staying at the Paramount and it will be our very first PAX. I dunno about him, but I'd love to have some people to hang with.

The few times I've stayed at the hotel were for business and the hotel lobby doesn't strike me as being conducive to gaming. Then again, I've been wrong before and could be wrong now.

I'm on the fence about my laptop, but I'll def be bringing my DS. I haven't yet gotten the wifi to work properly, and I have a fairly limited game selection:

    -Final Fantasy III
    -Animal Crossing
    -New Super Mario
    -Big Brain Academy
    -Eragon (haven't even played!)

So far, we're driving in Thursday afternoon/evening, and leaving Saturday night sometime. This might change based on my bf's changing work schedule.

Your not staying for Sunday? the closing notes are pretty cool and of course more gaming :)

Most DS games will have multiplayer content that downloads from the person with the acutal game to other DS players. So you dont have to own the game.

The more I read about PAX the more I'm REALLY hoping we'll be able to do all weekend. So far he has to work early Sunday morning (4am), and we're pushing it by staying late Sat for the Guild Wars party at GameWorks.

Our Thursday is the least planned; we probably won't make the Dinner so we might just spend time walking around and getting acclimated since it's his first trip downtown. We might even hoof it to the convention center for a dry run.

How far is this hotel from the convention center. I am a late pax goer and I am wondering if it isnt walking distance if someone could give me a ride if I stay here.

The website lists it as 1 block north of the convention center, but our estimates are about 500ft. Downhill.

Yeah. that's going to suck, esp with BYOC. We're hoping to use the car for drop-off and pickup.

The grade of the streets at that point of Seattle barely qualifies as "hill".... you get in the right areas of Seattle and there are some nasty hills... but its a super gentle slope at that point.

True, there are some sections of Cap Hill that are outright ridiculous in comparison.

Anyone staying at the Paramount who wants to meet up with us for a walk to Shorty's on Thursday night around 7pm, PM me! We'll be heading there for a few hours before heading to Gameworks. Mostly because I LURVE pinball.

Karf and I are staying at the Paramount, though he has all the details. His brother and I are picking me up at SEA around 11:45 PM, though, so I'll be missing any pre-PAX activities, methinks.

Now I'm VERY glad we're going to Shorty's! They even have my favorite pinball machine: Addams Family.

Okay, gotta finish all the errands and preps for the drive into Seattle today. See y'all there!

I'm staying at the Paramount. Would love to get some gaming on or make some friends to peruse the isles with at PAX. Leaving tonight from LAX at like 7 or 8 so I probably won't be there til late but, I'm sure the festivities are gonna be round the clock.

Gotta finish last minute preparations. PAX is GO!

The Paramount is nice... I agree that the lobby is probably not a good place for gaming. When I stayed there about a year and a half ago I always felt like I was tresspassing through a library when I walked through there. Not a very comfortable atmosphere, if you ask me.

The rooms are very nice though and the location is EXCELLENT. Very close to Gameworks, PAX, shopping, etc. Really, you couldn't get much closer, IMO.

The Dragonfish restaurant is pretty good too, that's at the Paramount. If you're looking for a good, classy bar though, I recommend the Cheesecake factory. Excellent mojitos.
