Nintendo Hard: 6,349,778th Time's The Charm
Posts
I haven't given it a good playthrough since it came in the mail.
Yeah, it's mostly memorization though. There are a few good walkthroughs online.
And soooo bloody. Was the NES version bloody? Did Sega do what nintenwouldn't?
Holy shit seriously jesus christ man
You have to take some videos of you playing. Seriously. I cannot fathom how you do that.

Watch these all the way through without looking at his other videos.
Practice, and an unholy dedication to cheerleaders saving the world.
To even be able to beat that level is an amazing feat.
I did the first half of the song on the table. Then I did the whole song on the DS.
Damnit.
Jumpin' Jack Flash was FAR more crueler with its note placement, especially during the 3rd part.
I'll take tapping buttons in line across the screen over a pattern deviously designed to actively fuck with your mind any day (3:35 on the video to be exact).
Jeez, i remember how proud i got just getting an A on that.
Getting all 300s is impressive, as I haven't ever cared enough to try to do that, but just getting an S rank isn't amazingly impressive.

Although I think he was being stupid with the "worm under tiles" level. You get specific instructions on how to move in that room, all you have to do is die once for each direction to know how far that way you should go. Or, use the worm detector, but that seems iffy.
The Genesis version was definitely more graphic with the deaths than the NES game. When I was younger, I did find the NES deaths to be a bit disturbing at the time. I didn't get to play the Genesis version too much, though -- I just remembered that you really make those goblins die bloody deaths in that version.
My Backloggery
I would if I had something to capture video from component cables.
There are already some X-Mission videos on Youtube, though. Including an XS on the Triti operation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnmf0Z91CFg).
Meh, Triti is far easier on the Wii (on the DS, after pulling out the spikes, you had to use the scalpel to cut the three corners of every thing you removed).
I wanna see Kyriaki and Pempti
Hahah holy shit. Now that is nintendo hard! I think I'd be seeing little purple dots in my sleep after beating that.
From Imperishable Night, Keine and Fujiwara no Mokou (It fast forwards between boss fights.)
I still want the song from that video.
Sekai wa sore wo ai to yobundaze!

Ready Steady Go is a lot harsher with the health.
If you mess up once, you're instantly in the red, if you mess up twice, you're dead.
RSG and JJF are about the same to ALL 300 difficulty-wise. JJF's note placement might make it just a tad harder. Sekai has about 33% more markers than either of them.
Ouendan and EBA are pretty easy as far as rhythm games go. If you want something in the genre that's Nintendo hard, try either Beatmania IIDX, In The Groove, or Pump It Up.
Challenge of the Gods doesn't hold a candle to the very last battle on God Mode of the regular story mode.

I have simply thrown up my hands and said 'fuck this' to the last battle. I can run through the rest of the game without problem now, but that last level is all that's kept me from winning a bet.
People mentioning Trauma Center's X missions made me go to gamefaqs and see what they said to do on X1 (I usually don't do this, but fuck, I've tried it like 4365 times). The X Operation guide was useless and basically said "Kill the kyriaki without letting your patient die!" but one of the other FAQs actually gave some okay advice. We'll see.
Gimme a few minutes, I'll YSI it for you.
Didn't have a problem with the speed bikes in Battletoads, either. But fuck that level in the pipes with those gears that chase you. Never could beat it.
Ares took him a couple hours.
Man, pausing the game to think isn't cheating.
Cheating is writing down the solutions to TC's puzzle levels after taking forever to figure them out, then doing them again instantly to get S ranks. Uh, not that I'd ever do such a thing.
Hmm, I didn't think of that. I guess you could pause the game, move you stylus into position over whatever tool you were going to use next, then unpause it. I can see why you'd consider that cheap.
I dislike the term "Nintendo hard" anyway. I get that it's referring to the NES, which had a lot of difficult games, but still. Nintendo's main franchises have been really easy for a while now.
The fuck is this talk about using the scalpel on Triti
They changed Triti in the Wii version. You don't need to cut the membranes anymore, but when talking with someone else (who had beaten the DS version thoroughly) while we were both trying to XS the X-Missions, he said that Triti on the Wii multiplies more aggressively than on the DS.
Never played the DS version myself so I don't know.
